i understand what you guys are saying about money management -- obviously it's the key to any type of betting you do. but hawaii or ecu or west texas junior college or any other team could very easily have been someone else's big play of the day. i'm not trying to start an argument, just merely pointing out that while hawaii and ecu were small plays for paco, they could have been big plays for other people.
now, that said, if you're just tailing paco's plays and you're not following his units, then you have no one to blame but yourself. for the record, i played hawaii for 1x and all my plays today have been for 1x, except texas tech which was a play i had my eye on anyway. when paco released it as a SCS, i upped my units.
sometimes money management can also be achieved by upping your bets when you're running hot, and reducing them when you're cold. this game tends to run in streaks, so this can also be an effective way to maximize winnings and minimize losses.
and as a piece of advice for everyone who keeps asking if they should play texas tech on the ml -- it is a fact that 80% of teams that win ATS also win SU. (when favorites win ATS, they win SU 100% of the time, obviously, because they're favorites to begin with.) if we can assume for the sake of argument that in any given week there are the same number of favorites as underdogs, then that would mean that about 60% of underdogs that win ATS also win SU. therefore, when you are betting a small underdog, it is a good opportunity to maximize profit by placing a small percentage of your total wager on the money line.
in no way am i trying to make a recommendation for tonight's SCS game with texas tech. like a certain poster at SBR likes to say "it's your money". i'm just merely pointing out the facts of spread betting. do with this information what you like.
for the record, i'm on texas tech for 3x +3, and texas tech for 1x ML.

no doubt haveuseenm. i knew exactly what point you were trying to make. i know a lot of guys on here probably use paco's plays in different ways -- some like them as advice, some choose to parlay or tease them, but there are definitely some blind tailers. the lesson is clear -- if you're gonna blind tail another capper, follow his/her unit weighting. by doing something different, you're only playing with fire.
