Ichiro is a hall of famer no doubt but we should not count any stats from japan when talking about his MLB career. Ten straight years he had over 200 hits and thats remarkable but only 2700 of those are in MLB. Thats all we should count. As far as any real baseball fans should be concerned he still needs 1300 more.

Nice cut and paste. Doesn't matter. Nobody should doubt that if Ichiro played in the MLB for his whole career, he'd hit 4k.

So Ted Williams really hit more home runs than the BABE. Hey, we should count his time in the military lost in his prime.

It really doesn't matter. At the end of the day, Ichiro is a first ballot HOFer. Why? 2700 hits in 14 seasons in the MLB, an average of 193 per year.

No doubt he is in the hall but the players that accomplished the 4000 hit feat deserve that title and "I" didn't do it here. Hey opinions are like ******** everybody's got one. Just thought I throw that out there.

Like Sovereign said, if he was in the MLB his whole career, he would still have 4k. One of the classiest dudes to ever play the game, I don't take a single thing away from him in this situation...he deserves all the praise.

                FIXED IT.

I give the guy props. More hits than anyone in the league since 2001. Stand up guy who understand his abilities and has been able to translate that into success. It was great to see the whole YANKEE dugout come out onto the field and you want to bust this guys chops. Amazing.

Agreed. Didn't think real baseball fans would be concerned with downplaying what he did in while he was in Japan.

I'm with OP. Doesn't count. You're playing at a lower level. If you count Japan then you might as well count minor leagues too for other players. That's professional baseball also. If you're getting paid to play you're pro. But I understand why they are doing it, it's something to hype.
