SEC Championship Odds 2025: Texas Favorite With Manning at Helm; Georgia, Alabama Trail

Led by Arch Manning, Texas is the favorite to win the SEC Championship, followed by Georgia and Alabama.

After failing to win the conference title in its first season in the SEC last year, Texas is the SEC Championship odds favorite this season thanks to Heisman Trophy odds leader Arch Manning.

In the conference where it just means more, perennial college football national championship odds favorites like Georgia and Alabama sit behind the Longhorns, but it will be a tough road for Manning and Co. to live up to the hype.

The SEC accounts for nine of the top 20 College Football Playoff odds contenders, and the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide have combined to win 10 of the last 11 SEC Championships.

It's funny not having Alabama as the favorite to win the SEC. The Crimson Tide have taken seven SEC Championships home since 2014, but with Nick Saban spending his Saturdays on the College GameDay set, and Kalen DeBoer's first season including a loss to Vanderbilt, you can understand why the Crimson Tide aren't viewed as a lock to win the conference.

However, Alabama should be viewed as one of the best teams in the country this season. They're No. 2 in SP+, and the only team to rank top six on both offense and defense with a lineup that's No. 28 in returning production. The Crimon Tide are experienced and littered with blue chip recruits.

While a lot rides on Ty Simpson hitting the ground running as QB1, DeBoer has a proven track record with QBs from Jake Haener at Fresno State to Michael Penix Jr. at Washington - plus he's reunited with offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb. Simpson will be playing behind one of the best offensive lines in the country, led by Kadyn Proctor, and throwing to one of the best pass-catching corps in the nation, led by Ryan Williams.

Meanwhile, the defense might be even better with potential All-Americans in LT Overton, Deontae Lawson, Domani Jackson, and Keon Sabb leading this unit for Kane Wommack. So long as Simpson is serviceable, Alabama has a shot at the SEC Championship with how loaded this roster is on both sides of the ball.
