Proposed 2014 Poker Leaderboard contest

Similar to my previous monthly contests (http://forum.sbrforum.com/betpoints/...d-contest.html), but covering the entire year. My proposed rules:

-Only dailies count, which are conveniently tallied for the year in the poker client.

-prize pool paid out either winner-take-all (if 3 or less participants), 70/30 to 1st/2nd (3 < participants < 10) or 60/35/15 to 1st/2nd/3rd (if >10 participants).

-2500 point entry fee. As many might not have these points saved up, I'll extend loans on a case-by-case basis to qualified applicants, interest free so long as minimum payments of 400/month are made (shouldn't be a problem, if you can't generate 400 points per month in poker this contest isn't for you!). Other restrictions will likely apply to ensure people don't freeroll and stop paying if they get a bad start.

That's it for main contest. Also thinking of a few side contests:

"I have a life" league - only counts first 100 tourneys played throughout the year, as judged by 10 point buyins in point history. Will require a little more policing, but gives guys like tat a chance to compete

Monthly leaderboard contests: similar to the monthly ones I ran previously.

Most 1st places: whoever has most 1st places wins. Tiebreaker is most points.


Anything done for entire year of 2014 will need to happen quick...discuss and let's get this thing going!

I'm down for anything that keeps people like myself motivated to play, I fall under "people with jobs and girlfriends)I play real money at sites (not a huge baller but I've played for eight years and do a couple hundo a month)

Unfortunately I started poker Oct 29th and barring a miracle run I'm going to just miss the cut. I wanna keep trying but already feeling blah about it.

I would be in for the "have a life" one but not even sure I would get 100 tourney's in. that is still almost 50% of the available tourneys. Can we do a "have a life AND a wife" one? Maybe make it 50 tourneys?

I'd like to see tourneys 7 days a week and allow people to enter any 5 tourneys during the week (not just once daily). So if you wanted to kick out all 5 in one day you could.

It's still open to any and all takers...so far only bobby and myself are in. I think we'll let anyone jump in at any time throughout the year, but tourneys won before joniing dont count. For example, if someone joins January 14th, they'll have to post a screenshot with their current winnings to be subtracted from their annual total for the purposes of the contest. I'll make it official tomorrow probably, looking like a small field lol.

The "I have a life" league doesnt seem to have enough interest to justify the work tracking it.

I will play in the 2500 portion of the contest if I can get the points in time. Is there any way to make it an 11 month contest? This way the winner would have plenty of points to buy a few teams into the Bowl Contest next season. Hell second place would have the points as well.


Also, normally we don't have too many daily touraments in December. This year was only because of the stoppage of the leaderboard contest for a month

To clarify and update: so far the 2014 Leaderboard contest is between bobbywaves and I, with the winner getting 5k. Late entries are still welcome, but tournies played before entering will not count.
