Fall 2014 Poker Fantasy Contest (100 point buy-in)
As explained elsewhere (http://www.sportsbookreview.com/foru...l#post22344085), this is a fantasy poker contest for the current SBR promo (http://www.sportsbookreview.com/foru...ts.html?slf=36). Rules as follow:
-Team owners receive a gift card with 100 slices of pizza, which they use to hire 5-10 players for their team. These players must be picked before 10 AM ET August 11th. Slices of pizza not used to hire players remain on the owners gift card and may be spent for future trades or acquisitions.
-An owner must choose a roster of up to 5 players to play before 10 AM on the Monday of each week, posting it in the thread. If not posted in subsequent weeks, it is assumed the roster remains the same. An owner may not play the same roster as another owner.
-Qualifying dates will be from Monday August 11th to Friday September 5th for dailies. The championship tourney on the 6th is excluded from scoring, as it's too random to include in the totals at face value.
-Trades/Acquisitions: in the down time between weeks (from 10 AM Saturday until 10 AM Monday ET), owners make make trades and acquisitions during the first 3 down seasons. No trades or acquisitions may be made during the last weekend before the final week.
Trades: Owners made trade players between teams. Trades may include any number of players and pizza slices available on an owner's gift card. All trades must be posted in a trades thread (to be created by me) and approved by a league manager (at the moment, only myself and darkghost, possibly a few more). Trades may be disapproved if a league manager feels the trade is significantly imbalanced, or if being done as collusion between owners.
Acquisitions: Owners can buy any player during the down time at the listed price. Player prices will be updated between the end of the week's dailies and the beginning of the downtime at 10 AM Saturday, after which the player can be acquired by any owner who has the required slices of pizza.
Players score for their teams as follows:
-winning points in a daily: the number of points won
-winning most points in a week: 150 point bonus
-winning most points during the contest: 600 point bonus
-highest "BROI" (ratio of poker withdrawals to deposits): 0 point bonus
-most cashes: 0 point bonus
Entry fee is 100 points. Prize pool divided as follows:
Best team performance for any given week (weekly MVP included, contest MVP not included): 7.5% of prize pool
1st place: 45% of prize pool
2nd place: 20% of prize pool
Middle Place: 5% of pool (most average performance; for even number of teams decided per tiebreakers below)
Tie breaker for all prizes: coach who entered earliest wins.
I'll put out a price list for players in a separate thread Thursday morning. Players not listed can be bought for a default value. If anyone has feedback on the rules, please let me know ASAP so we can alter the official rules before registration opens on Thursday!
