Fight Like a Star: Which Zodiac Signs Produce the Most MMA Legends?

You don’t need to check your horoscope to know that some zodiac signs hit harder than others. But when it comes to producing all-time MMA greats, are the stars actually aligned?

We consulted with celebrity astrologer Kyle Thomas, who broke down the birth signs of the biggest names in the fight game – champions, fan favorites, walking chaos agents — to see which signs dominate the Octagon.

"To assess the top MMA and UFC fighters, we pulled together a list of some of the most buzzworthy and acclaimed professionals on the map worldwide," Thomas explains. "These athletes drive billions of dollars in business and have massive fanbases globally. All twelve zodiac signs were represented in the list of the top 26 athletes with the biggest wins and buzz.

"Which zodiac signs were the ones who carried the crown? The analysis might surprise you."

There's a tie atop the zodiac list, with Cancer and Scorpio each producing four top-flight MMA stars apiece.

"This is likely because Water signs are known to be very passionate and emotional – and can put their entire hearts into something they believe in," Thomas explains. "They also have greater intuition than the other zodiac signs, which can allow them to almost psychically anticipate their opponents moves."

Close behind are Virgo and Libra, with each represented by three fighters on the list.

"Virgos are known for their incredible work ethic and often excel in physical activity and sports," Thomas says. "Libras, however, are the zodiac sign known for partnership—and this reveals that they are excellent at “mirroring” their competitors or opponents."

Four zodiac signs are associated with two MMA greats on the list: Aries, Taurus, Gemini and Aquarius.

"Aries, Gemini, and Aquarius are exceptionally assertive, extroverted, and eager to make their mark, whereas Taurus is known for their unending perseverance – which is a key component of success," Thomas says.

Leo, Sagittarius, Capricorn and Pisces bring up the rear with just one fighter apiece.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Aries, as the first zodiac sign, embody the energy of the warrior. This is because they are ruled by the planet of aggression and war, Mars. As a Fire zodiac sign, they are courageous leaders always ready for battle.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)
