Our UFC 320 main event heads to Las Vegas on Saturday, October 4, for a light heavyweight title rematch between Russia’s Magomed Ankalaev and Brazil’s Alex “Poatan” Pereira. Ankalaev enters as the -265 favorite after methodically dethroning Pereira at UFC 313, while the former champ looks to reclaim his belt as a +200 underdog.

We break down Ankalaev vs. Pereira 2 with our pick to win and the top prop bet to consider before fight night. The main card begins at 10 p.m. ET from T-Mobile Arena.

🏆 Magomed Ankalaev inside the distance ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Magomed Ankalaev already showed he can win rounds against Alex Pereira, but his first fight approach was measured. He surprised Pereira with power and mixed in level changes to keep him guessing, even rocking him in Round 2 but never fully committing to a finish.

This time, Ankalaev has 25 minutes of data on Pereira and should be more decisive in the clinch and on the ground. Pereira is 38, reportedly had a tough weight cut to 205, and looked flat in their first meeting. Ankalaev’s wrestling and power punching could combine for a late stoppage.

At +165 (≈ 37.7% implied probability), a $10 bet returns $26.50 total ($16.50 profit). For a champion with a read on his opponent and five rounds to work, this finish prop is excellent value.

🥊 Merab Dvalishvili by decision ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Merab Dvalishvili’s engine and suffocating wrestling style are tailor-made to neutralize long, creative strikers like Cory Sandhagen. He doesn’t just shoot takedowns; he chains pressure, pushes opponents to the cage, and keeps a relentless pace. Sandhagen thrives on movement and variety, but Merab can smother that rhythm by darting in and out and forcing grappling exchanges.

While Merab scored a finish last fight, his career is built on decisions, as he lacks one-punch power and isn’t a submission ace. Sandhagen’s only stoppage loss came via submission to Aljamain Sterling, a specialist in back-takes. Merab isn’t that type.

At -175 (≈ 63.6% implied probability), a $10 bet returns $15.71 total ($5.71 profit). With Merab’s style and track record, grinding out five rounds is the most likely outcome and our most confident play of the night.

🥊 Jiri Prochazka by KO ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Jiri Prochazka impressed by outsmarting Jamahal Hill at UFC 311, showing that his chaos is calculated when needed. Against Khalil Rountree Jr., that craft matters: Rountree hits hard but fights in bursts, landing just 40% of his significant strikes and often throwing single power shots instead of sustained volume.

Prochazka’s movement and unpredictability lure opponents into overcommitting, and his counters are lethal when he finds timing. Rountree can be pressured and tends to slow if forced backward. Jiri’s durability isn’t flawless, but his offensive creativity and ability to create finishing sequences are elite.

At +110 (≈ 47.6% implied probability), a $10 bet returns $21 total ($11 profit). Plus money on a KO is a good deal for an opportunistic finisher facing a low-volume opponent.

🥊 Joe Pyfer Round 1 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Joe Pyfer’s UFC run shows his clearest path to victory comes early. His explosiveness is most dangerous in Round 1, where he dropped Kelvin Gastelum twice before slowing later. Abus Magomedov can look sharp early but historically fades under pressure and has shown defensive lapses when opponents press.

Pyfer is limited technically, but in the first five minutes his raw power and urgency make up for it. If the fight drags, Pyfer’s win equity drops significantly, making Round 1 his best window.

At +250 (≈ 28.6% implied probability), a $10 bet returns $35 total ($25 profit). For a fighter with a kill-or-be-killed first-round style, this price is excellent for an early finish.
