Everton produced the joint-third-most draws (six) during their travels last season while settling for a share of the spoils the previous two times they played at Elland Road in the Premier League.

Leeds dominated the Championship last season, losing just one of 23 matches at their formidable fortress, finishing with eight more points than anyone else on home turf. 

While that's a staggering return, the Premier League provides an altogether more daunting prospect.

Last season's sensational home form, combined with Everton's mediocrity away from Goodison Park, is the reason I'm backing a draw under Monday's bright lights. 

Everton are unbeaten in their last five matches against Leeds, albeit over a four-year period. The newly promoted side will be up for this one, but Everton will be well organized and disciplined under David Moyes, whose return to the club spearheaded a second-half revival last season.

While all of us will take that stat with a boulder-sized ball of salt, this Leeds side won't resemble the expansive and naive version that was relegated from the top flight at the end of the 2022-23 campaign after conceding 78 goals. 

Manager Daniel Farke will know that the difference between relegation and survival lies in fielding a well-drilled and stingy rearguard. Additionally, Everton scored the fewest goals (42) of any team that remained in the top flight last season.
