It's a high-stakes Pacific Division clash as the Edmonton Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights battle for Western Conference playoff positioning. Puck drop from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas is set for 9:30 p.m. ET, and you can catch all the action on ESPN.

My Oilers vs. Golden Knights prediction looks at whether there is real value on the visitors with the Golden Knights listed a -135 moneyline betting favorite, despite struggling across recent games.

💰 Oilers vs. Golden Knights prediction & best bet

Oilers moneyline (+115)

Edmonton has dominated Vegas in recent meetings, winning eight of the last nine, including going 2-for-2 this season. The Oilers do a good job of neutralizing high-danger chances for Vegas, which will be an issue for a VGK team that is just 5-10 since the Olympic break. The Oilers seem to play a responsible defensive game against the rival Golden Knights,

Life post-Leon Draisaitl seems to be okay as well. The Oil have scored five goals twice in four games with their star sidelined, they'll find their way.

As long as they're offered at plus-money, I'm in.

Score prediction: Oilers 4, Golden Knights 2

🔥 Best Oilers vs. Golden Knights player prop bet

Matthew Savoie to record 1+ points (+105)

There were plenty of questions about how the Oilers would handle life without Leon Draisaitl, and while it hasn't been all great, Matthew Savoie has done his bit to mitigate the absence of the superstar.

The former top-ten pick is having one of the most productive stretches of his first full season. Draisaitl's injury has opened the door for Savoie, who has found himself playing on Connor McDavid's wing on the top line. He's also suiting up on the top power-play unit, and he's still getting time on the penalty kill.

He's notched two goals and an assist in five games in that role, and his value is sky-high compared to other players in the same roles. Zach Hyman and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, who also suit up on the top PP unit, are both trading considerably lower at -135.

There's value here as long as we're in the plus-money range.

📊 Live Oilers vs. Golden Knights odds

This game opened a little more toward the Oilers, with Vegas -135 and Edmonton +110 moving quickly to their current lines. That's an interesting line movement, as the bulk of the tickets are being written for the road team here, with reports showing they're having about 60% of the overall wagers.

The total also opened similarly, and the public is backing a big offensive output tonight - that means that some of the best sports betting sites are offering the under at +100 if you shop around.

🚀 Oilers vs. Golden Knights same-game parlay

We're going to get a great value on this same-game parlay with the underdog, the longer side of the total, and access to the top line via the player with the best odds. Just pairing the Oilers moneyline and an Under 6.5 play here gives you a solid foundation of +310, while adding Savoie boosts this all the way to a super appealing +700.

I'm placing this bet at bet365, but you should shop around at the best sports betting apps as lots offer a variety of promos around SGP.

💡 How I'm betting Oilers vs. Golden Knights

Follow all of our NHL analysis and expert predictions this season.

I'm treating this very similarly to any regular-season NHL game, dedicating about 2.5 units to the total play. I like the Oilers in a spot that they've dominated at plus-money, so I'll dedicate a full unit there. I've only got three-quarters on each of the total and the player prop. I'm not going the full unit on the total as Edmonton has exploded twice for five goals in its last four games, so there's a chance that it pushes this near the limit on its own, although I do anticipate a tight, playoff-like game ultimately.

I'm also happy to dedicate three-quarters of a unit to plus-money access to one of the best top lines and top power plays in the league, especially considering how steep many others are in that spot. Connor McDavid, for example, is as long as -550 to record a single point. I'll just look to one of his linemates.
