It's a heavyweight showdown as the Tampa Bay Lightning visit the Minnesota Wild tonight. It doesn't get much better than a Tuesday night showdown between two top contenders for the Stanley Cup. Puck drop from Grand Casino Arena in Saint Paul, Minn., is set for 9:30 p.m. ET, airing on TNT.

My Lightning vs. Wild prediction breaks down the which team is set to end its two-game skid, while breaking down my favorite player prop for what's set to be a lower-scoring tilt than might be expected.

💰 Lightning vs. Wild prediction & best bet

Tampa Bay moneyline (-130)

The Lightning are well-positioned to snap their skid tonight by leaning into their primary advantage: elite goaltending. Andrei Vasilevskiy's 2.22 GAA ranks first in the league, and his .917 save percentage is second.

Tampa's ability to suppress shots (26.8 shots allowed per game) will also be key. A clogged neutral zone will limit Minnesota's transitions.

Special teams will also be a deciding factor. The Wild rely heavily on their power-play success, but Tampa's fifth-ranked penalty kill (83.1%) should be able to handle that. Goaltending and defensive discipline should secure the road win.

Score prediction: Tampa Bay 4, Minnesota 2

🔥 Best Lightning vs. Wild player prop bet

Darren Raddysh Over 2.5 shots (-114)

Don't look now: Darren Raddysh has established himself among the NHL's elite offensive defensemen. He's put up 54 points, ranking sixth among all blueliners, and his 1.04 points/game puts him slightly ahead of studs like Cale Makar and Lane Huston. This season has been the coming-out party.

But for tonight, we're looking at his shots on goal prop. Raddysh has logged 139 shots this season (ninth for defense) and has cleared this prop in four of his last five games, getting 3, 4, 3, 2, and 3 shots, and his heavy usage is likely to continue tonight. Minnesota allows 30.3 shots per game - the third-worst mark in the league - giving Raddysh ample opportunity to hunt for shots during his 22-minute-per-game average.

📊 Live Lightning vs. Wild odds

Tampa Bay opened at -135 but ahead already moved to the -140 to -146 range across the board. Even while I was authoring this piece, bet365 moved from -130 to -140, joining the rest of the pack. With two teams so evenly matched, we might see oscillation throughout the day, but the movement isn't likely to be much in either direction.

The total is at 6 or 6.5 depending on your shop, and I'm a big fan of playing it at the 6.5 to get the buffer on a 4-2 finish, which I see as a very likely outside. However, the 6.5 is shading pretty hard to the Under and could result in flat 6s across the board by puck drop.

💡 How I'm betting Lightning vs. Wild

Follow all of our NHL analysis and expert predictions this season.

I'm playing this game very similarly to a normal NHL game, but I'm leaning a bit heavier toward the player prop than the side or total. There's a reason this game is lined so tightly: it features two of the frontrunners in the Stanley Cup odds, in a dead heat with 80 points on the season. The

A lot of the top offensive forces on both teams are priced very aggressively, but there does seem to be an edge here with the Raddysh shots on goal prop. That should help offset the others if the game gets squirrely.

🚀 Lightning vs. Wild same-game parlay

These three plays should work well hand-in-hand throughout the night. The Lightning win will likely need to be on the back of the play of Vasilevskiy, and with Minnesota's netminding duo also pretty sharp, the Under 6.5 seems a strong side. We're taking the 6.5 with the slightly longer odds to prevent against the push at 4-2, an incredibly common final score in the NHL. Raddysh's shot prop, a very reasonable number, rounds things out to give us a little boost.
