The Washington Capitals host the New York Rangers at 1 p.m. ET to open the day, with the Vancouver Canucks in Buffalo against the Sabres as one of two games at the 4 p.m. timeslot.

An interconference clash between the Colorado Avalanche and Toronto Maple Leafs and a Metropolitan matchup between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Carolina Hurricanes highlights a busy 7 p.m. slate.

The Calgary Flames and Vegas Golden Knights close out the slate as the lone 10 p.m. game on the docket.

Here are our top NHL prop picks and best bets for Saturday (odds via our best NHL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Saturday’s NHL prop picks

Carter Verhaeghe to record an assist vs. Devils (+155 via BetMGM)  ⭐⭐⭐

The Florida Panthers are red-hot, and so is winger Carter Verhaeghe. He is now up to 40 points (21 goals, 19 assists) through 41 games thanks to his seven-game point (and assist) streak.

Verhaeghe plays on the second line with Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk and is on the Panthers' top power-play unit.

The Panthers are big favorites at home against a beat-up Devils team. Expect Verhaeghe to set up a goal Saturday.

Gustav Nyquist to record a point vs. Islanders (-140 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nashville Predators winger Gustav Nyquist extended his point streak to nine games with an empty-net goal on Friday night. However, he was a bit unlucky to not pick up a point before that as linemates Filip Forsberg and Ryan O'Reilly had multi-point nights.

It took a few weeks for Nyquist to settle in for Nashville, but he's been scoring at just below a point-per-game pace with 29 points (nine goals, 20 assists) in 31 games since Nov. 4. He also plays on both the top line and power-play unit.

The Predators are slight favorites in a game with a 6.5 total, and the Islanders have allowed 30 goals in their last eight games (3.75 per game), including five goals in three of their last six contests. Their top line should be in on the action yet again.

Saturday’s NHL game picks

Kraken ML vs. Blue Jackets (-160 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Seattle Kraken are rolling right now. They’re 10-0-2 in their last 12 games and have won eight in a row. Seattle has outscored its opposition 41-17 during its 12-game hot streak, including allowing two goals or fewer in all 10 victories.

On the other hand, the Columbus Blue Jackets are 2-3-4 in their last nine games while being outscored 34-21. That includes four losses in the last five games with a goal differential of 18-9.

Seattle had a slow start to the season but the Kraken are playing more like the team that ousted the Colorado Avalanche in last year’s playoffs. This line is too low on Saturday night in Columbus.

Flyers vs. Jets Under 6 (+100 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

In case you haven’t heard by now, the Winnipeg Jets are really good. They’ve allowed two goals or fewer in 11 straight games and haven’t allowed more than three goals in their last 31 contests dating back to Nov. 4.

Connor Hellebuyck and Laurent Brossoit are a great goalie tandem for Winnipeg, and the Philadelphia Flyers may have found their tandem of the future with Carter Hart and Samuel Ersson.

The Flyers are on a back-to-back after coming from behind to beat the Wild 4-3 in overtime. It’ll be Ersson in net for this one. The netminder is 10-3-2 with 30 goals against and a .924 SV% in his last 15 starts.

The Jets and Flyers have both been profitable Under teams this season. Getting this Under 6 at even money is a steal.
