I haven't been this excited about my NHL player props since going on a run of correctly predicting 9 of 10 goal-scorer picks.
The matchups for my four headliners, Alex DeBrincat, David Pastrnak, Filip Forsberg, and Cale Makar, are more favorable than any team facing the Edmonton Oilers defense and goaltenders. As part of the NHL best bets series, I implore you to join me for the Tuesday treat.

💰 Best NHL player prop bet today
Alex DeBrincat Over 3.5 shots (+110) vs. Senators
I love this matchup for DeBrincat, who hit the Over on this prop in the previous 3 games.
He's up against an Ottawa Senators team that played in New York on Monday and lost two defensemen to injuries, one of whom is minute-muncher Thomas Chabot.
A depleted and tired Sens team is facing a player who has been shooting more lately than a hunter on a hunting holiday. And DeBrincat already has a track record for letting loose against the Sens, averaging 4.8 per game over the last five.
💡 Bonus pick: Alex DeBrincat anytime goal-scorer prop
Without Dylan Larkin, the onus falls on DeBrincat to carry the goal-scoring lead. He enters on two-game goal-scoring streak and has been the Red Wings' most formidable offensive threat since their captain went down with an injury.
Best odds: +160 via FanDuel (0.5u -> .8u)

David Pastrnak anytime goal (-105) vs. Maple Leafs
Pastrnak has 7 goals against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the previous four matchups. Not only does he score for fun against the Buds, but Craig Berube's team is already on the golf course, at least mentally.
Then you have the Bruins' second-best home record to consider compared to the Maple Leafs' second-worst road mark. Oh, and Pastrnak enters the contest having scored four in the last four contests.
It's no wonder his odds at the best sports betting sites are so short.
Cale Makar Over 0.5 assists (-120) at Penguins
First off, I like the matchup for the Colorado Avalanche, who will have revenge on their mind after being shellacked 7-2 by the Pittsburgh Penguins at Ball Arena last week.
Makar has a knack for notching a helper against the flightless birds, too, carrying a 4-game assist streak against them into proceedings.
The Pens, meanwhile, have been poor defensively lately, allowing 15 goals in the last three games. Sure, two of those came against the Category 5 Hurricanes, but still, that's something the Avs will try to exploit.
💡 Wild vs. Lightning prediction
I covered today's meaningful game at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Fla., in my Wild vs. Lightning prediction.
Filip Forsberg Over 0.5 assists (+105) vs. Sharks
I cashed in on Forsberg's assist and anytime goal-scorer prop in the Nashville Predators' previous game against the Chicago Blackhawks. Forsberg and Nashville are extremely confident, playing like the apex predators their team name reflects.
The 31-year-old has six assists in the previous five meetings with the San Jose Sharks, who have hit struggle street. The Sharks allowed 21 goals in their current 4-game skid, bad news for a team that still has playoff aspirations.
Speaking of such, Forsberg is hellbent on propelling the Preds to the dance, which should facilitate a fifth straight with at least one helper.
💡 Bonus pick: Filip Forsberg anytime goal-scorer prop
This feels like the best bonus pick of all time, with Forsberg lighting the lamp in five straight meetings against the Sharks, netting six. Not only does he feast on the Sharks, but he is as hot as someone who has sat by a fire for hours on end, scoring 4 in the previous 4.

💡 How I'm betting NHL player props today
Follow all of our NHL analysis and expert predictions this season.
Things have been going well since I pivoted from selecting a disproportionate number of goal-scoring props. However, I couldn't help myself for tonight's slate, particularly with the mouthwatering matchups for Pasta, Forsberg, and, to a lesser extent, DeBrincat.
I can't wait for tomorrow's docket, as I feel confident about each bet, especially the 5-star picks.
