We're fading the Pittsburgh Steelers after their surprising Week 1 victory while finding value on one of Week 2's biggest favorites in our NFL parlay picks of the week.

NFL Parlay Predictions
Patriots -2 (-110)
Pittsburgh forced five turnovers, didn’t commit any, scored a defensive touchdown, recorded seven sacks and still couldn’t beat the Bengals until overtime. None of that seems sustainable, and I’m happy to fade the Steelers here in their home opener against a New England Patriots squad that is hungry to atone for last week’s loss to the Miami Dolphins.
The Patriots were on the other end of that turnover variance, giving the ball away twice — with one of those turnovers being returned for a touchdown. Otherwise, there wasn’t much separating New England from a Miami team many feel is a legitimate playoff contender, gaining just one less first down than the Dolphins and only 30 fewer yards.
The Mitch Trubisky-led Steelers are a step down in class from Miami, and I expect it to show.

Jaguars first-half spread +3 (-115)
The Indianapolis Colts keep getting priced as one of the better teams in the AFC, but when are they going to live up to the hype? Indy fell flat on its face once again last week in quarterback Matt Ryan’s Colts debut, needing to outscore the Houston Texans 17-0 in the fourth quarter just to salvage a tie as 7-point favorites.
Until Indianapolis proves it deserves the respect that oddsmakers are giving it, I’ll look for opportunities to fade, and a visit to the Jacksonville Jaguars is a great spot to do it. The Colts are 0-7 ATS in their last seven trips to Jacksonville and 3-12-1 ATS in the last 16 meetings, including last season’s inexplicable loss in the final week that kept Indy out of the playoffs.
Jacksonville brought plenty of energy and enthusiasm to the field last week in its first game under new head coach Doug Pederson, and we can expect the same in the Jags’ home opener. After seeing Jacksonville blow a fourth-quarter lead in Week 1 against the Washington Commanders, I’m more comfortable catching a field goal with the Jaguars in the first half, although a Jags lead at halftime won’t be a surprise either.
Bills -13.5 alternate spread (+130)
The Buffalo Bills marched up and down the field with ease when they met the Tennessee Titans last year, racking up 28 first downs but losing in the final minute when QB Josh Allen slipped on a fourth-and-one sneak at the Tennessee goal line. Several Bills players have acknowledged that loss creates some extra motivation for Buffalo this week, and several other signs point toward a comfortable Bills win as well.
Buffalo has had extra time to prepare after opening the season last Thursday in against the Los Angeles Rams. The Bills didn’t even have to punt in their dominant Week 1 victory. A primetime game in Buffalo is always a big deal, but especially in the Bills’ home opener. The Titans already appear not to be as good as last year, falling at home in Week 1 to the New York Giants.
Over the last two seasons, 12 of Buffalo’s 13 victories have come by two or more touchdowns, so I’m fine selling a few points to create some extra value.
