❄️ Patriots vs. Broncos weather report

  • Date: Sunday, Jan. 25 @ 3 p.m. ET
  • Location: Empower Field at Mile High (Denver)
  • Forecast: 19 degrees, cloudy
  • Wind: 8 mph SE

It's expected to be a freezing-cold afternoon in Denver, with 19-degree temperatures at kickoff that will feel like 9 degrees by the fourth quarter. There will also be moderate wind but only a 3% chance of snow, as this weekend's massive U.S. snowstorm is expected to mostly miss Colorado, apart from the cold weather.

Colder-weather games always makes ball security that much more challenging, as evidenced by Patriots quarterback Drake Maye's previous two playoff performances in chilly New England. He's fumbled six times through the first two rounds of the playoffs, losing three.

Denver forced five Bills takeaways in the Divisional Round, including two fumbles by Josh Allen. Maye will have to take better care of the ball against a Broncos defense that led the league with 68 sacks in 2025. A dominant defensive performance is likely what Denver needs to win this game after the devastating injury to starting quarterback Bo Nix.

Jarrett Stidham will make the start on Sunday, and he hasn't attempted a pass in a non-preseason game in over two years. However, not many coaches are better-equipped to prepare a backup quarterback for a start like this than the Broncos' Sean Payton, who often found ways to win games without an injured Drew Brees toward the end of their time together with the Saints. The best sports betting sites have Stidham's passing yardage total set around 199.5 (-114), and his passing touchdowns at 0.5 (-235). If you think Stidham is going to have a strong performance, you're better off backing him to throw multiple touchdowns at +240 odds.

Given the strong play of the Broncos' defense and the unproven nature of a Stidham-led offense, our Mike Spector has Under 42.5 as one of his NFL best bets for Conference Championships. The Patriots are favored by 4.5 points to win on the road and advance to Super Bowl 60.

🌧️ Rams vs. Seahawks weather report

  • Date: Sunday, Jan. 25 @ 6:30 p.m. ET
  • Location: Lumen Field (Seattle)
  • Forecast: 39 degrees, 54% chance of rain
  • Wind: 1 mph SE

There's projected rain in the forecast for the NFC Championship Game, with a 54% probability of precipitation in Seattle.

Holding onto the football could certainly be challenging in those conditions. The Rams and Seahawks defenses ranked fifth and sixth, respectively, in takeaways this season. Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold led the league in total turnovers during the regular season, which included an NFL-high 11 fumbles. He played clean football the last two games against San Francisco, but rainy weather could bring out those poor tendencies from Darnold at the worst time. DraftKings has -150 odds on Darnold to throw at least one interception.

The Seahawks will also be down one-half of their dominant running back duo after Zach Charbonnet suffered a season-ending knee injury last week against the 49ers. Kenneth Walker III picked up the slack with a 116-yard, three-touchdown performance in Seattle's blowout victory. Walker's rushing total is set at 85.5 at FanDuel (-114 odds), which he has gone Over in three of his last four games.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles still has two strong backs - Kyren Williams and Black Corum - to lean on if the conditions are sloppy as expected. Williams handled the lion's share of the carries for the Rams in the Divisional Round and scored their only two touchdowns in the win over the Bears.

The first two matchups between these teams were decided by a total of three points, with each team winning one of the games. Oddsmakers clearly aren't expecting another 38-37 barnburner, like we saw in December, as the total is set at 46.5. The Seahawks are favored by 2.5 points to win their first NFC Championship since 2015.
