It's not entirely surprising to see some of the shortest odds include "Seattle over ..." or " ... over Seattle" at the top of this table. The Seahawks are the Super Bowl odds favorite, so naturally, the exact forecast of them beating - or at least reaching - the Big Game will garner the shortest odds.

Exact forecast prediction

I've seen enough of Sam Darnold to know better than to trust the Seahawks quarterback to get the job done, but the same can't be said for the Rams' man under center. Matthew Stafford has already led his team to Super Bowl glory in recent seasons, and while he doesn't have former Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp, this time around, he has Puka Nacua (and Davante Adams).

As for the AFC, things are a little more muddled. However, the Houston Texans have the makings of a team that can get the job done. Their defensive line and stout secondary can cause any team fits, so they're worth a shot.

Prediction: Rams over Texans (+2500)

AFC exact forecast prediction

I mentioned the Texans' defense above. That was on display in the Wild Card Round against the Steelers, holding Pittsburgh to just 3.1 yards per play and six points. I see that causing problems for the Pats, so I'm backing the Texans to reach the AFC Championship Game.

The Bills and Broncos are a little harder to decipher, but I'm going to sign with the more experienced QB and take Buffalo into the championship game. That's where they, too, will fall to the Texans' defense.

Prediction: Texans over Bills (+700)

🗓️ Conference championship schedule

The AFC and NFC conference championships will be played on Sunday, Feb. 25, two weeks ahead of the Super Bowl. Though the locations are unknown and dependent on the matchups, we know the start times and broadcast networks.

  • NFC championship: 6:30 p.m. ET, FOX

Rams over Seahawks +275 26.67%
Seahawks over Bears +325 23.53%
Rams over 49ers +650 13.33%
Bears over Seahawks +1200 7.69%
Bears over 49ers +1600 5.88%
49ers over Rams +1600 5.88%
49ers over Bears +2000 4.76

NFC exact forecast prediction

As discussed above, Seahawks QB Sam Darnold is Cinderella, and that clock is about to strike midnight. We've seen this story play out before with him, and I'm not expecting anything different this time out. The Seahawks defense is legit; they'll get past a banged-up 49ers squad, but the NFC Championship Game is the end of the road.

Then there's the other matchup, and I'm just not sold on the Bears. Even in a heroic comeback against Green Bay last week, I just didn't see any reason to believe that they're going to hang with the Rams.

Prediction: Rams over Seahawks (+275)
