I’m sorry, Colts fans, but I’m not too keen on Jones’ ability to play through his fractured fibula. This week, he gets the NFL’s best defense by expected points added (EPA) allowed per dropback. A key part of Houston’s success has been the pass rush – the Texans are 12th by pass-rush win rate and boast two top-15 individual edge rushers, per the metric.

Houston’s game plan will be to pressure Jones, who won’t be able to move as effectively in the pocket. That’s a problem versus this Texans defense, which also ranks fourth-best by passing yards allowed per game to quarterbacks (195.3). Jones may be averaging 258.2 passing yards per contest, but this is an excellent sell-high spot.

Lock in Jones for Under 226.5 passing yards for -111 (52.6%) at DraftKings, which is edging out the sharp offshores by one yard.

⬆️ Dalton Schultz player prop: Over 41.5 receiving yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Texans will get quarterback C.J. Stroud back from injury, which should be a nice shot in the arm for the passing game. Of all Houston’s talented receivers, I’m most excited about tight end Dalton Schultz. Indianapolis snagged Sauce Gardner at the trade deadline, which will cause problems for Nico Collins on the boundary – hopefully boosting Schultz’s volume. 

The Colts have been shaky versus tight ends this year. They have allowed the third-most receiving yards per game to the position (72.2). They coughed up 68 to Travis Kelce and Noah Gray last week and 52 to Kyle Pitts and Charlie Woerner before their bye. Those are the only games we’ve seen them play with Gardner in the mix.

I like Schultz’s position heading into Sunday, especially with Stroud back in the fold. Schultz is averaging 48.1 receiving yards per game with Stroud starting this year. Buy the Over 41.5 for -114 (53.3%) at FanDuel to score an $8.77 profit from a $10 bet.

🔥 Houston Texans D/ST TD pick: anytime TD scorer (+475) ⭐⭐

I don’t love any of the anytime touchdown scorer options for this weekend’s Texans vs. Colts matchup. No touchdown scorer (+10000) could be a fun sweat in what I project as a low-scoring affair. But with Jones dealing with an injury and Houston’s pass rush featuring two electric edge rushers in Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson Jr., let’s hope for a defensive score.

Jones has been getting lucky this season. He has 17 touchdowns to seven interceptions despite tossing 13 interceptable passes and 21 danger plays. Sunday’s matchup is the first meeting of these teams with Jones under center, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Houston head coach DeMeco Ryans has some plays up his sleeve that will result in Jones turnovers.
