🔴 Safest NFL survivor pick: Chiefs (87.50%) over Raiders

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is 12-2 in his career against the Raiders. Meanwhile, Kansas City has won 11 straight home games against AFC opponents and 13 straight as a home betting favorite.

Now the Chiefs get back wide receiver Rashee Rice after he served a six-game suspension, and the team is the healthiest it has been all season.

Their defense completely shut down a Detroit Lions team with the No. 1 scoring offense, holding them to 17 points and fewer than 300 total yards, while Las Vegas needed a game against the lowly Titans to snap a four-game losing streak.

There are still plenty of survivor pool competitors who will wish to save the Chiefs for later in the season, but there won't be an easier divisional game, or a more favorable matchup for the remainder of the season.

🪖 Best NFL survivor pick: Patriots (77.53%) over Titans

New England has won three straight for the first time since 2022. Its 4-2 start is also its best through six games since 2019, the last time it won the AFC East.

Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is among the MVP odds contenders, coming off his first career game with three passing touchdowns and zero interceptions.

He ranks in the top four in the league in completion percentage and yards per attempt. Just five second-year quarterbacks since 1970 have finished in the top four in each at season's end.

Meanwhile, four of Tennessee’s five losses have come by double digits. That makes this a perfect time to use the Patriots in survivor pools, with the next logical opportunity five games from now when they host the Jets on Thursday night.

🐻 NFL survivor strategy pick: Bears (72.22%) over Saints

Chicago will be at a rest disadvantage, having played on Monday night in Week 6. But the Bears are still a great pivot and NFL survivor strategy pick in this home matchup against a Saints team enduring their worst six-game start (1-5) since 1999.

Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler still has just one win in 12 starts in his NFL career. He is also 0-5 on the road with a 3-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio, averaging just 5.51 yards per attempt in road starts.

Chicago projects to be an underdog in six of its next seven games, with the only exception being the Week 10 home game against the Giants. Those who want to keep options for better teams open later in the season could do a lot worse than picking the Bears to beat the Saints at home, even on a short week.

🐎 NFL survivor pick to avoid: Broncos (79.17%) over Giants

While most teams coming off international games take their bye the following week, Denver preferred to use it later. Making the long trip home from London makes this a difficult scheduling spot, especially as it faces a well-rested and in-form Giants team.

New York’s 17-point Week 6 win over Philadelphia was impressive, as it scored its most points against the Eagles (34) since 2012. Its four rushing touchdowns were the most since 2010.

There have now been four consecutive weeks where a favorite of a touchdown or more did not win outright, including Green Bay’s Week 4 tie against Dallas. Thus, I am avoiding using Denver in survivor pools given the scheduling disadvantage.

💵 Circa Survivor contest update

The majority of the Circa Sports Survivor contestants advanced last week, as a whopping 2,528 of the 4,552 entries (55.5%) advanced with the Packers. The six most used teams won, and the Eagles eliminated the most people (89) after losing to the Giants.

❓ NFL survivor pool FAQs

What is the best NFL survivor pick this week?

The safest NFL survivor pick is the Kansas City Chiefs over the Las Vegas Raiders, while the best pick is the New England Patriots to beat the Tennessee Titans.

How do NFL survivor pools work?

Each week, you must choose one team to win their game outright, but you can't use the same team twice across the 18-week NFL regular season. That means you must pick teams that are likely to win but won't be needed later in the year.

How do you win an NFL survivor pool?

The best way to win an NFL survivor pool is to make strategic picks each week that avoid upsets while leaving the best teams available late in the season. If you make the same picks as everyone in your pool, you won't be able to win - but you need to pick teams that can avoid knocking you out early.
