It’s Seahawks vs. Patriots in Super Bowl 2026 at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco tomorrow, and I’m breaking down my Super Bowl predictions - including why Seattle is poised to come out swinging from the opening kickoff on Feb. 8.
Mike Vrabel deserves major praise for New England’s quick rebuild, but his run likely stops here, as Mike Macdonald’s dominant Seahawks look ready to roll.

| Team | Seed | Record | Spread | Total |

🔒 Super Bowl prediction: Why the Seahawks are the lock of the year
1. Experience
Seattle looks every bit like a Super Bowl-ready squad, stocked with proven veterans at premium spots. The likes of Cooper Kupp, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Julian Love draw a favorable matchup against a young offense that hasn’t been battle-tested in January. Drake Maye is only in Year 2 and has shown a tendency to turn the ball over these playoffs - so the big question is whether he can stay clean under the brightest lights. And even if he does, can his young supporting cast at receiver and running back do enough to overcome Seattle's vaunted offense? That remains to be seen.
2. The defensive wall in Seattle
The Seahawks have the best scoring defense in the NFL (17.1 points against per game), and while New England owns the second (17.3), Seattle's opponents were a combined 117-121 this year - the Patriots' were 91-147.
Dig a little further and you’ll see Seattle is stacked with elite talent at every level of the defense. Second-team All-Pro Leonard Williams anchors the middle, Pro Bowl edge rusher DeMarcus Lawrence crashes off the edge, second-team All-Pro linebacker Ernest Jones IV commands the heart of the unit, and second-team All-Pro corner Devon Witherspoon blankets opposing No. 1 receivers on the outside.
Seattle has also stretched its streak to 27 consecutive games without surrendering a 100-yard rusher - and that run includes matchups against Christian McCaffrey (twice), Kyren Williams (twice), Bijan Robinson, and Jonathan Taylor over the last two months. Will the duo of TreVeyon Henderson and Rhamondre Stevenson break that in the Super Bowl? It's unlikely.
3. Sam Darnold's renaissance
In his debut season with Seattle, Sam Darnold - who's the favorite on the Super Bowl MVP odds board - etched his name alongside Tom Brady as the only quarterbacks ever to post consecutive 14-win campaigns. He's been one of the most efficient passers in football, and ranks top 10 in virtually every important statistical category for quarterbacks.
| Sam Darnold | Stat | NFL Rank |
|---|---|---|
| Completion percentage | 67.7% (career best) | 7th |
| Passing yards | 4,048 | 5th |
| Yards per attempt | 8.5 (career best) | 2nd |
| Passing touchdowns | 25 | T-9th |
| Passer rating | 99.1 | 11th |
| Sacks taken | 27 (career best) | T-14th |
| Pass yards via play-action | 11.4 | 2nd |
Paired with offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, this team has been near-unstoppable, and with an elite defense behind him, Darnold and the Seahawks should be able to roll the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
🔮 2026 Super Bowl score prediction
Unfortunately for Patriots fans, their Cinderella run ends here. While New England's defense might be able to keep the potent Seattle offense at bay, this deep roster filled with playmakers won't be stopped for four quarters.
Whether it's Kupp, Jaxon Smith-Njigba (who could realistically have his own section as to why the Seahawks will win), Kenneth Walker, or Rashid Shaheed, the Seahawks can kill you in many ways, and will be putting the final nail in the coffin on their road to the Lombardi on Feb. 8.
Score prediction: Seahawks 28, Patriots 14
