They say that fortune favors the bold. Well, it doesn't get any bolder for the Indianapolis Colts, who traded away two first-round draft picks for a chance to lift the Lombardi Trophy this season.

The Colts are among the Super Bowl odds contenders on trade deadline day, and their defensive stock improved significantly with the acquisition of Sauce Gardner, arguably the NFL's best cornerback. But will it be enough to pose a serious threat to Super Bowl odds favorites the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs?

While it didn't come cheap, trading away two first-round draft picks to the New York Jets, the Colts significantly improved their pass defense as they make their Super Bowl intentions clear.

Tied atop the AFC with the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots at 7-2, the Colts' ownership group understands the importance of capitalizing on their team's special start as we enter the second half of the season. Gardner will substantially improve the pass defense, which is currently ranked 13th in terms of DVOA and EPA per play.

With a run-stop unit that ranks just outside of the top 10 in both of the aforementioned categories, the Colts will enter Week 10 with no disconcerting weaknesses. They already have one of the league's most clutch QBs spearheading an offense that ranks first via DVOA and EPA per play.

Indianapolis is receiving the seventh-shortest Super Bowl odds (+1200) at the best sports betting sites. Those odds imply a 7.69% win probability. If they cap off this fairytale-like run with the Lombardi Trophy, a winning $10 bet will profit $120.
