After one of the most stunning trades in NFL history, the Green Bay Packers are among the Super Bowl odds favorites - exactly one week before the Dallas Cowboys kick off the season without Micah Parsons.

The star pass rusher was dealt Thursday in a shocking blockbuster trade that dramatically shifted the NFL odds to win the Lombardi Trophy in six months' time. The Packers have the fifth-shortest betting odds to win the Super Bowl, with shorter than 15/1 odds at most shops, while the Cowboys are massive long shots at 65/1 via DraftKings.

Green Bay reportedly traded two first-round picks and star defensive tackle Kenny Clark in return for Parsons - the new favorite by the latest NFL Defensive Player of the Year odds - and signed him to a 4-year, $188 million contract, according to NFL.com.

If there wasn't already enough hype around the Packers ahead of Jordan Love's third season as a full-time starter, general manager Brian Gutekunst pulled off one of the most daring moves in NFL history - and paid handsomely to do so - to augment a defense that already ranked seventh in DVOA last year.

Green Bay was already a dark-horse contender with +1800 Super Bowl odds earlier this week, but the move for Parsons slashed the Packers' price to as short as +1200 across the best NFL betting sites. A $10 bet pays a $120 profit if Parsons helps lead his new team to the promised land.

It's no coincidence that the Packers are tied with the Lions for the fifth-best odds at most books - they'll need to get past their division bullies at some point on their road to Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. Though with the additions to Green Bay's receiving corps and Parsons wreaking havoc for Jeff Hafley's defense, it's hard to look past the new-look Packers' best odds of +1600 via Caesars.

📉 Cowboys among Super Bowl long shots after dealing Parsons

As the days inched closer to Thursday's Week 1 kickoff against the Philadelphia Eagles, it felt like Jerry Jones was simply stalling out Parsons' trade request and contract demands before he returned to the field.

To that effect, the Cowboys featured 40/1 odds at FanDuel earlier this week - pricing in some uncertainty about Parsons, to be sure, but still within striking distance of the NFC playoff field. Those odds have moved to 55/1 at that book after a move that shocked the entire league a week before kickoff.

It's not necessarily that the move itself is a disaster - two first-round picks, an All-Pro defender, and nearly $200 million is no paltry return for Parsons - but it certainly makes Dallas worse on paper right now than it was a year ago, when the lack of roster talent was apparent during Dak Prescott's absence.

Even if Prescott stays healthy, there is work to be done in Brian Schottenheimer's first season as a head coach. Those who still believe in the 'Boys will want to head to DraftKings, where a winning $10 bet would return $650 in profit at those +6500 odds.
