The Rams opened as consensus favorites on Sunday, Jan. 30, with books setting the spread between 3.5 and 4.5 points. The projected point total ranged from 49 to 50 points at the opening. Early overnight action had the sharps on the Rams and the Over, while the public was quick to back the Bengals and the Over with a slight majority of tickets.

Tracking this market action and any line movement over the next two weeks will be important to any success when betting on the big game. Combine this information with game-level analysis and reports on injuries and/or player usage.

Prior to the AFC and NFC Championship, Rams QB Matthew Stafford was available at +500 for the Super Bowl MVP, while Bengals QB Joe Burrow was as high as +5000.

Super Bowl Line Movement

Lines have been available since late Sunday and there has been plenty of movement across the sportsbook landscape.

The spread was at -4.5 for the Rams at our top-rated sportsbooks on Feb.2. Since then, it has moved back a half-point in favor of the Bengals. The lone holdout is BetMGM, who still have the Bengals at +4.5. Caesars currently has the Rams as 3.5-point favorites, the best value for the NFC team. Most have the odds at a split of -110, except for FanDuel and PointsBet.

There's consensus across the board on the Over/Under. All of our top books have it stuck at 48.5.

Super Bowl Betting Action

Early action had 60% of the consensus bets on the Bengals but 57% of the money was backing the Rams. The public and sharps were aligned on the Over 49.5, but with a slightly higher percentage of tickets than cash.

Currently, 54% of the handle is on the Rams, while 63% of the public bets are on the Bengals.
