Seahawks vs. Patriots weather impact
- Passing attacks take flight. With mild temperatures and no rain in the forecast, the passing games won't be limited by the weather. Quarterbacks Sam Darnold and Drake Maye lead the Super Bowl MVP odds, while our C Jackson Cowart is backing receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba to have a big night and claim the top individual honor. Smith-Njigba's receiving yards prop is set at 94.5 yards, while he has minus-money odds to score a touchdown at the best sports betting apps.
- Will dry weather help Maye hold onto the ball? Drake Maye hasn't had a strong postseason by most measures. He fumbled six times across the first two playoff games before playing a turnover-free AFC Championship. Cold and especially wet weather notoriously makes it harder to grip the football, so perhaps Maye will go his second straight game without a fumble in the mild-weather Bay Area. That would certainly aid the Patriots' chances to beat the Seahawks. New England is an underdog in the game, and our Gary Pearson explored the Super Bowl underdog history.
- Deep passing in play. Clear skies open the door for long passes for both quarterbacks. Only Matthew Stafford had more 20-plus-yard passes than Maye this season, while Darnold led the league in 40-yard bombs. Maye's longest completion Over/Under is set at 33.5 yards at the best sports betting sites, while Darnold's sits at 35.5 yards. Each quarterback has gone Over their respective longest completion number just once during the playoffs.
🎤 Halftime show forecast: Will weather affect Bad Bunny performance?
The much-anticipated Bad Bunny Super Bowl halftime show likely won't be affected by the weather. While Bad Bunny will perform outside, he should have clear conditions that won't get in the way of what is sure to be an elaborate performance by the Puerto Rican singer.
Our Sean Tomlinson broke down betting the halftime show in great detail in his Bad Bunny prop guide, as well as how to trade on the Super Bowl halftime show at Kalshi.
