I'm focusing on the total in my Rams vs. Seahawks prediction for Thursday Night Football at Lumen Field in Seattle (8:15 p.m. ET, Prime Video).

The Rams are the 1 or 1.5-point betting favorite for the pivotal clash, the winner of which will have the inside track to claiming the NFC West. This analysis is part of our NFL predictions for Week 16.

The Seahawks allowed the second-fewest points per game (17.3) before allowing 16 in their Week 15 win over the Indianapolis Colts. They held the Rams to 21 in the narrow two-point defeat at SoFi Stadium in Week 11.

That defensive performance was even more impressive considering Matthew Stafford and Co. have scored 30 points or more seven times this season. Mike Macdonald's defense hasn't allowed more than 24 points since Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Rams, meanwhile, had the third-best defensive DVOA before Week 15. With rain and windy conditions in the forecast, I expect a comparatively low-scoring contest between teams battling for the NFC West crown.
