We have a new gunslinger sitting imperiously atop our NFL Clutch Factor power rankings, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Baker Mayfield taking the mantle, replacing Josh Allen through five weeks of the NFL season. The Buccaneers have four wins, all of which are thanks to Mayfield mounting improbable fourth-quarter comebacks.
There have been notable shifts across the power rankings, and I've made some NFL picks, focusing on player props for the quarterbacks near the summit. The rankings below complement the analysis provided in our NFL predictions for Week 6.

💰 Best clutch QB prop bets for Week 6
Our NFL player prop odds tool shows the best odds for every market across legal sportsbooks in your area
⬆️ Mac Jones Over 246.5 passing yards ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Jones hit the Over on this total in all three of his starts, averaging 302 per game. That stat is slightly inflated, however, due to playing an extra session in overtime against the Rams. That said, Jones is facing a Buccaneers team with the eighth-worst defensive pass DVOA. Tampa Bay's defense ranks in the bottom third of passing yards allowed per game (218.4) and opponent yards per pass attempt (6.8).
Jones has some knee and oblique soreness. But if he's scheduled to start, the pain must be manageable.
Best odds: -110 via BetMGM
⬆️ Baker Mayfield Over 240.5 passing yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐
Mayfield hit the Over on this total in only two of five games. And the 49ers have allowed more than 241 passing yards only once, last week against the Rams. However, the 49ers are still dealing with a rash of defensive injuries, which I expect will allow Mayfield to exceed the 241-yard threshold.
Of the best sports betting sites, BetMGM offers the best odds (-115), where a winning $10 bet will profit $8.70.

⛵️ Magic man Mayfield secures fourth comeback win
Four wins, four of the last-gasp comeback variety. Mayfield has been featured more in these clutch QB power rankings than a buccaneer plundered. And he's finally reached the pinnacle of the leaderboard, representing the NFL's most clutch QB through five weeks.
Despite playing without one of his primary targets, Mike Evans, and his playmaker out of the backfield, Bucky Irving, Mayfield waltzed into Lumen Field and matched Sam Darnold punch for punch, with the Buccaneers landing the knockout blow thanks to a walk-off field goal.
Mayfield is among the NFL MVP odds contenders and has 10 TD passes compared to a single interception. He has mounted four comeback wins and four game-winning drives, the only QB with more than two in either category.
🐎 Bo Nix almost perfect in 4th quarter vs. Eagles
Akin to his rookie season, Bo Nix started out of the gates slowly. And just like last year, he has found his range. He has tossed only one interception in the last three games compared to four TD passes.
And he mounted a fourth-quarter comeback in Philly against the defending Super Bowl champions, outscoring the Eagles 18-0 on route to a 21-17 victory. Nix was almost perfect in the fourth quarter, amassing 126 passing yards on 9-for-10. He threw a TD pass and spearheaded three scoring drives on three possessions.
He climbed the power rankings, too, moving from 20th to a share of 11th place.
⛏️ Mac Jones puts forth warrior's effort
At this point, you have to give Mac Jones props. Not only did he and his 49ers upset the Los Angeles Rams as the 7-point underdog, but he did so after taking several monstrous hits. By the end of the game, Jones was hobbling under center.
Yet he still spearheaded an improbable victory as the leader of the walking wounded. Jones scorched the Rams' secondary for 342 passing yards on 33-for-49, finishing with two TD passes and no interceptions.
In his three starts, Jones has 905 passing yards, six passing TDs, and one interception. And, most importantly, he's 3-0, winning two games against division rivals.
🗒️ More Week 5 takeaways
- Mayfield and Nix, Bryce Young, Trevor Lawrence, Carson Wentz, and Cam Ward orchestrated fourth-quarter comebacks in Week 5
- The injured Lamar Jackson is the highest-ranked QB with only one win
- Four of the top five won their Week 5 games
- Allen dropped from the top spot for the first time this season
- After consecutive losses, Justin Herbert dropped from fifth to a tie for 16th. His depleted offensive line has contributed significantly to the drop
