NFL Predictions: Best Prime-Time Bets for Week 2
It's time to dive into my best prime-time bets for Week 2, and it doesn't get much better than this. Who will dominate under the brightest lights in America? Let's get right into my NFL picks for the marquee games on the schedule this week.

ποΈ Commanders (+3.5) vs. π§ Packers
I liked this play when the Commanders were getting 3 points on Thursday Night Football, and I absolutely love it now that they've crossed the key number and are into the +3.5 range.
Yes, the Packers are a wagon on both sides of the ball, we understand that. But reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels has burned me before, and that won't be happening again here.
Daniels cruised to a 19-of-30, 233-yard, one-touchdown passing performance in Week 1 against a strong New York Giants defense. There's a full complement of healthy weapons at his disposal, including Deebo Samuel, who looked like the San Francisco 49ers version of himself a week ago.
This game is going to be closer than we think. And while Green Bay may ultimately come away with the win, which we're calling for in our Commanders vs. Packers prediction, Washington will be in its rearview all night long.

π¦ Eagles (-1.5) vs. π΄ Chiefs
This game isn't necessarily a prime-time matchup, but it absolutely should be, and it's a crime this contest won't be flexed.
In what world should the Eagles only be laying 1.5 points against a team they just beat up in last year's Super Bowl? The Chiefs are injured - the wide receiver corps is decimated - and are coming off a loss to the Chargers in Week 1. Their Super Bowl odds are falling as a result.
It's greener pastures on the other side, with the Eagles taking a business-first approach during their Week 1 win over the Dallas Cowboys, a victory in which reigning Offensive Player of the Year Saquon Barkley hardly needed to break a sweat.
The Eagles' defense was a top-tier unit last year, easily ranking No. 1 in total team defense. All they did was add to it over the offseason. Especially through the draft, with Jihaad Campbell one of my favorite NFL futures bets to make right now. You can bank on Patrick Mahomes enduring another tough time during this matchup.

πͺΆ Falcons (+3.5) vs. π£ Vikings
Don't get me wrong, I love what I saw from the Minnesota Vikings during the fourth quarter on Monday Night Football. But I'm not about to get incredibly hyped for a team that needed to score 21 unanswered points to beat the Chicago Bears.
The Falcons looked like the more reliable team in Week 1, with Michael Penix throwing for close to 300 yards and Bijan Robinson torching a tough Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense through the air. Much like our first prediction, while the Vikings may win this game, I'm counting on the Falcons to keep it close, if not win outright, on Sunday Night Football.

π Falcons vs. Vikings odds for Sunday Night Football
β΅οΈ Buccaneers (+2.5) vs. π Texans
The Texans just don't seem like the same team lately we've been accustomed to seeing. CJ Stroud, the third-year gunslinger, threw for under 200 yards in two of his final regular-season starts in 2024, and he began this season with a 19-for-27, 188-yard performance against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1. This offense might look different to begin 2025 without Tank Dell and Joe Mixon.
Conversely, the Bucs looked much more polished in Week 1, with Baker Mayfield making the most of his 167 yards through the air while throwing three touchdown passes, including a game-winning toss to rookie standout Emeka Egbuka. The defensive unit did bend, but it didn't break for the most part to open the season, which should help us cash this plus-money play on Monday Night Football.

π Buccaneers vs Texans odds for Monday Night Football
β‘οΈChargers (-3) vs. π΄ββ οΈ Raiders
The Chargers dispatched the Chiefs on Friday Night Football in Brazil, and they're laying just 3 points against the Raiders, who squeaked past a Patriots team that has no intention of making the playoffs.
While Las Vegas does boast Offensive Rookie of the Year odds favorite Ashton Jeanty, he averaged just two yards per carry in Week 1. He'll endure another tough time against the Chargers' strong run defense.
Los Angeles' offense will be difficult to stop if last week is any indication, too, with Justin Herbert throwing for over 300 yards and three touchdowns. Give me the Chargers all day here, and it could very well be my lock of the week.
