Tyler Shough Under 0.5 interceptions (+125) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Shough has thrown an interception in five of the six games in which he’s thrown at least 20 passes. However, he’s yet to throw more than a single interception in a game, and the only team he didn’t throw a pick against was the Panthers.
The Panthers are currently tied for the seventh-most interceptions this season with 12. That said, their interceptions have not been evenly dispersed. Five of those interceptions have come in their last two games, and they managed just seven through their first 11 contests.
With Shough completing 65.2% of his passes, his accuracy has not been a problem this season. And though the Panthers’ secondary enters this game hot, I worry the bye week may have cooled them off. Tetairoa McMillan Under 57.5 receiving yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
McMillan caught five passes for 60 yards the first time these two teams met. However, he hasn’t topped 43 yards in either of his last two games, as he has just three combined catches in those contests. While he’s the Panthers’ leading receiver with 826 yards, he has six performances with fewer than 60 yards.
Though the Saints are just 3-10, their pass defense has been solid this season. The unit is allowing just 182.6 passing yards per game, which ranks sixth-best in the league, and 10.8 yards per reception, which ranks 14th. McMillan has been overly reliant on big plays over the last few weeks, as he has one reception of at least 29 yards in three consecutive games. He still hit this Under twice.
FanDuel’s price of -114 implies a 53.27% chance that this Under hits. A $10 bet would profit $8.77.
Rico Dowdle to score first touchdown (+650) ⭐⭐⭐
With both of these teams ranking in the bottom five in scoring, I’m taking a longshot for the touchdown scorer of my Panthers vs. Saints player props. Dowdle hasn’t scored in three weeks, but he’s scored six touchdowns this season. The first time the Panthers faced the Saints, he scored the first touchdown of the game, which marked the second time he accomplished that feat this season.
The Saints are averaging just 2.0 points per first quarter, which is the worst average in the league. Therefore, if a touchdown is scored early, the Panthers have the best chance of scoring it. Dowdle is tied for the team lead in touchdowns.
