The NFL Playoffs begin Saturday as the Los Angeles Rams visit the Carolina Panthers in the Wild Card Round. Carolina pulled off an upset victory when these teams clashed in the regular season, but my Rams vs. Panthers predictions for this wild-card game expect the visitors to roll in the postseason rematch.

The Rams are a 10-point betting favorite and are a far more battle-tested squad. My NFL playoff predictions and wild-card matchups dig into whether they can cover the largest spread of the opening round when the action from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C., gets underway at 4:30 p.m. ET (FOX).

Rams -10 (-108) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Panthers stumbled into the playoffs, losing three of four. And while they were competitive in two of those three defeats, I don't give that much credence, considering the lackluster quality of opponents. Tampa Bay and New Orleans aren't exactly world beaters, nor are they in the same stratosphere as the Rams.

The game will be Bryce Young's first in the postseason, and I'm not convinced he'll be able to keep up with MVP odds favorite Matthew Stafford and the Rams' league-best offense. The Rams scored the most points per game (30.5), are ranked first in DVOA, and have the second-shortest Super Bowl odds

While the Panthers' Week 13 upset victory over the Rams was impressive, I don't foresee them repeating that 31-point performance. Since that eyebrow-raising result, the Panthers' offense has sputtered, averaging just 16 points in the final four games.

The Rams, conversely, averaged 36.8 points per game in their final five games.

Rams vs. Panthers line movement

FanDuel is the outlier here, offering the Panthers at +10.5 (-120), but those odds suggest the hook could fall off and that it might join the rest of the best sports betting apps at 10 points before long. This line had moved to 9.5 on Monday across the board before jumping back to double-digits by Tuesday.

The total has held firm since the opener.
