NFC Division Winner Predictions

Philadelphia Eagles To Win NFC East (+155)

The race for the top spot in the NFC East is much tighter than initially anticipated. The Dallas Cowboys opened up as -120 favorites to defend their title. Now, with the preseason complete, they're neck and neck with the Eagles across most books to win the NFC East.

This is due in large part to the strength of a Philadelphia defense that is ranked fourth on the line and 12th in the secondary by Sharp Football Analysis. They are well suited to test the likes of Ezekiel Elliott, Saquon Barkley, and Antonio Gibson.

Philadelphia also added former Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown. Now, quarterback Jalen Hurts has two deep threats with DeVonta Smith returning after 916 receiving yards and five touchdowns in his rookie campaign.

The Eagles have the consensus second-easiest schedule this season, which makes their path to the division crown that much more manageable.

Green Bay Packers To Win NFC North (-154)

Green Bay has won eight of the last 11 NFC North titles dating back to the 2011 season. This includes a current stretch of three straight years. They have had little resistance in that span, ending both the 2020 and 2021 seasons with a five-game cushion over second place.

It might have been tough to place this bet considering the loss of Davante Adams, but the struggles of the other three teams in the division make it easier. In the last two seasons, only Green Bay has made it above the .500 mark.

None of the teams around the Packers have done much to improve this offseason. With reigning league MVP Aaron Rodgers in charge of this offense, claiming a fourth straight NFC North crown will not be difficult.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers To Win NFC South (-250)

For a moment, the three other teams in the NFC South had a chance. And then, it immediately vanished when Tom Brady announced he would not, in fact, retire. Brady is restocked with his favorite weapons in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. He also welcomes former Atlanta Falcons wideouts Julio Jones and Russell Gage to the mix.

Tampa’s defense ranks inside the top 10 on both the line and in the secondary, according to Sharp Football Analysis. They will have no problem causing trouble for Marcus Mariota, Jameis Winson, and whoever starts at quarterback for the Carolina Panthers.

Todd Bowles taking over as head coach will not slow this train down, either. His quarterback has 18 total divisional titles to his credit and wants to prove he has one more Super Bowl run left in him.

Los Angeles Rams To Win NFC West(+130)

The defending Super Bowl champions won a highly competitive NFC West division last season. Los Angeles edged out the Arizona Cardinals by a game and held off San Francisco by two games. The Rams were 3-3 against divisional opponents in 2021.

Their road to a repeat crown will be difficult, having to play the league’s second-toughest schedule, according to Sharp Football Analysis rankings. In that schedule the Rams play the Buffalo Bills, Buccaneers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Packers.

In the end, this will come down to the many changes that have happened to their divisional opponents and the uncertainty they bring. San Francisco is set to start Trey Lance at quarterback, Arizona will be without DeAndre Hopkins for six games, and Seattle sent Russell Wilson to Denver. Expect Los Angeles to rise up among all that chaos.
