The fallout from the Baltimore Ravens missing the postseason has already begun: our NFL head coaches tracker was updated yesterday to include their head coach of the last 18 seasons, John Harbaugh. But will the changes stop there? Prediction markets dig into the next big question: Will Lamar Jackson be traded before the start of next season?
Since 2019, with the exception of a few games where he's been sidelined with injury, quarterback Lamar Jackson has been a steady presence under center for the Baltimore Ravens - but the two-time MVP remains without a Super Bowl ring. This year, the Ravens aren't even in the running for one; next year, Jackson's price skyrockets.

With the Ravens falling short of the postseason, we've seen an immediate uptick in interest in whether Jackson will be moving out of Baltimore. The prediction market launched in the new year with a 50% chance, but was bet down to around 25% within an hour of release. That number had trickled down to just 13%, but following the firing of Harbaugh, has rebounded slightly to 16%.
🟣 Why would the Ravens trade Jackson?
It all comes down to money, as it often does. Jackson's cap hit jumps from around $43 million this year to a whopping $74.5 million for the upcoming season.
Questions will certainly be raised in management meetings about what the team will look like with that cap hit on the roster, and depending on the return, the team may feel they have to cut their losses and move on from the MVP.
They've moved on from their Super Bowl-winning head coach, starting speculation for the Ravens next head coach predictions. Could it be a full reset in Charm City?
🐬 Where might Jackson be traded? 🏴☠️
There are no shortage of quarterback needy teams in the league, but two teams in particular have been linked to the signal caller as possible destinations:
- The Miami Dolphins -> Tua might be traded before the dust settles, and his tenure in Miami has been shaky with injury concerns and general problems with his performance
- The Las Vegas Raiders -> Las Vegas is sorely in need of an offensive line first and foremost, but Geno Smith isn't the answer. Could Maxx Crosby be an attractive trade piece?
📜 No-trade clause
One potential snag for Jackson moving is that his contract has a no-trade clause built in, which is reportedly a full no-trade clause. That means if the signal-caller is going to be on the move, he's going to have to approve it himself.
No matter what teams might want him, or what the return could be for Baltimore, Jackson has the final say so.
🔮 Will Jackson be traded prediction
It's not just Jackson who is rumored to be shuffled out of Baltimore. Head coach John Harbaugh has been fired.
With Harbaugh gone, the prediction here is that Jackson will stay put for another year in Baltimore. You can buy the "no" of if he'll be traded for 96 cents, and honestly, not really a great deal of value to be found in that offering. But it's the most likely outcome.
If you're really down with the "yes", hope that the price drops from 27 cents to the 20 cent range.
❓ How do you trade on prediction markets?
Think of prediction markets like the stock market, but for real-world outcomes. You sign up, add some funds, pick an event (anything from politics to weather to sports to entertainment), and then decide whether you’re riding with “Yes” or fading it with “No.”
Prices bounce around $0.01 and $0.99 based on what everyone else believes, and once the event wraps up, contracts settle at either $1 or $0. You’re not betting against the house - you’re trading against other users and cashing in if your prediction hits.
