Undrafted free agent quarterback Brady Cook is likely to make his first NFL start, which alters things dramatically for my Jets vs. Jaguars player props. Jacksonville will kick off this game in sole possession of first place in the AFC South at home from EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla., at 1 p.m. ET today (CBS).

As a 13.5-point betting favorite, Jacksonville is tied for the biggest favorite of any team this week. Given its propensity for forcing turnovers against a young quarterback in his first-ever start, my NFL Week 15 predictions include betting on the Jaguars' defense or special teams to score a touchdown at lofty odds.

Travis Etienne Jr. Under 18.5 rushing attempts (-130) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Travis Etienne Jr. has been a workhorse for the Jaguars lately. He has at least 18 touches in five of the previous six games, and this figures to be a mouth-watering matchup for him against a Jets defense that allows the third-most rushing yards per game.

However, this four-star best Jets vs. Jaguars player prop is predicated on Jacksonville racing out to a big lead early, and saving Etienne’s legs for huge games against the AFC-leading Broncos and two divisional opponents to finish the regular season.

While Jacksonville’s offensive line ranks sixth in run block win rate, that also means that backup running back Bhayshul Tuten should find success with whatever opportunities he is given.

BetMGM’s -130 price and 56.52% implied odds are worth paying up for, as it is the only one of our best sports betting sites offering a total higher than 17.5. If Etienne finishes with 18 or fewer rushing attempts for the fourth time in the last six games, my $10 winning wager would net $7.69 in profits.

Brady Cook player prop Under 27.5 yards longest pass completion (-110) ⭐⭐⭐

In three quarters of action in relief of the injured Tyrod Taylor last week, Brady Cook threw for 163 yards, but his longest completion went for 24 yards. That was his only completion longer than 18 yards for the game.

The ceiling for Cook’s O/U for passing yards across the market is 156.5 yards, and I expect a heavy dose of blitzing from the Jaguars defense in an attempt to rattle the young signal caller.

Even with Taylor and Justin Fields under center over the last four weeks, just one Jets wide receiver had a catch longer than 27.5 yards in that span. Running back Breece Hall actually took two screen passes for 40-plus yards in the last month, but his ceiling is lowered after topping 80 scrimmage yards once in that time frame.

If Cook’s longest pass completion goes for 27 or fewer yards, my $10 winning wager through DraftKings’ standard -110 juice at 52.38% implied odds would return $9.09 in profits.

Jaguars defense to score a touchdown (+400) ⭐⭐

Jacksonville’s defense is tied for second in the NFL with 23 takeaways. The Jaguars are likely licking their chops to face Cook, who had two red zone interceptions last week and two more fumbles (both were recovered).

Cook took six sacks last week and finished with a paltry 6.6 QBR. Jacksonville’s defense ranks fifth in EPA per play, and it can afford to be aggressive with extra blitz packages knowing New York does not have feared game-breaking skill position players.

If the Jaguars defense scores a touchdown, a $10 winning wager through DraftKings’ +400 odds would net $40 in profit.
