Is Davante Adams playing tonight ? With the Los Angeles Rams playing for playoff seeding against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football (8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN), the former All-Pro wide receiver is hoping to return from a lingering hamstring injury.
Those chances seem slim, though, with Adams listed as "doubtful" to play tonight at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. We break down the latest Davante Adams injury update and how it impacts our NFL Week 17 predictions.
🤔 Is Davante Adams playing tonight on Monday Night Football?
See all of our experts' NFL picks for every game based on the latest NFL odds.
Adams was in the midst of a career renaissance in his first year in Los Angeles, but the 33-year-old wideout suffered a serious hamstring injury in Week 15 that sidelined him for the rest of that game and last week's loss to the rival Seattle Seahawks.
That loss sent the Rams tumbling down the NFC playoff standings, and after the San Francisco 49ers' Week 17 win to set up a winner-take-all clash with Seattle next week for the NFC West title, Los Angeles has much less at stake over these final two weeks.
That's relevant here because the Rams have little incentive to force the issue with Adams, who didn't practice this week and is listed as doubtful to play tonight. It was the same story last week, when Adams didn't practice all week and carried a doubtful tag into Thursday Night Football ... and ultimately didn't play in that one.
Incredibly, even after missing last week, Adams still leads the NFL in receiving touchdowns (14) with 12 of those coming inside the 20-yard line. Those red-zone targets could go to fellow wideout Puka Nacua, though the Rams' tight ends cleaned up last week and seem to be likely candidates for an increased target share tonight.
That's one reason why we're targeting Terrance Ferguson - who scored last week in Adams' absence - in our anytime touchdown scorer predictions for Monday Night Football. We also break down the Rams' full injury report and how it'll impact the final result in our Rams vs. Falcons predictions ahead of kickoff tonight.
