I'm explaining how to bet the Super Bowl Over/Under ahead of Super Bowl 2026 between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots.
We have plenty more how-tos and betting guides in our Super Bowl predictions leading up to Big Game. Super Bowl 60 is on Sunday, Feb. 8, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. (6:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock).
🏈 How to bet the Super Bowl Over/Under 2026
Betting on the Over/Under for the Super Bowl is wagering on whether the combined score between the Seahawks and Patriots will exceed the total set by the best sports betting sites.
The Over/Under for Super Bowl 60 is set at 45.5 points across the market. Betting the Over on that total means the teams will have to combine to score at least 46 points for you to win your wager (example: Patriots 27, Seahawks 24). Alternatively, hitting on an Under wager would require the teams to combine for no more than 45 points (example: Seahawks 24, Patriots 14).
While the Over and Under typically have similar odds, they may not be exactly even. Wagering on the total at FanDuel, the Over carries odds of -115, with the Under priced at -111. That means that the Over is the slightly more favored outcome. A $10 bet on the Over would win $8.70 in profit at the offered odds, with an implied probability of 53.49%, per our odds converter. The Under has an implied probability slightly lower at 52.61%, meaning a wager on the Under would win more if successful ($9.01 profit on a $10 bet).
If the total is set at a full number (45) rather than a half-number (45.5, like the FanDuel example), there's the potential for your wager to result in a "push" - i.e. a tie. In the case of the total being set at 45: whether you bet on the Over or Under, if the Super Bowl ends with 45 combined points, your initial stake will be returned to you, and the bet won't be considered a win or loss.

💰 Super Bowl Over/Under prediction
The defining matchup of Super Bowl 60 will be the Seahawks' defense against the Patriots' offense.
While Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has had an impressive sophomore season, he hasn't been the same player in the postseason and has struggled going up against elite defenses. Seattle's unit can certainly be considered in the upper echelon of defenses, and I think the Seahawks will rattle Maye in this game to keep the New England offense at bay. Given that, the Seahawks win a relatively lower-scoring affair in the Big Game and go Under the 45.5-point total.
I predicted the Seahawks to win 27-17 when I offered my pick for who will win the Super Bowl. That's 44 combined points between Seattle and New England. Our C Jackson Cowart also identified the Under as one of his 10 best Super Bowl bets to make right now.
