The potential return of WR Garrett Wilson could have a huge impact on the fantasy football playoffs in many leagues. Below, we will deliver a Wilson injury update and look at when he will be back. We will look at Wilson’s fantasy impact, as well as Jets betting odds.
⏳ When will Garrett Wilson return and be back for the Jets?
Wilson has been dealing with right knee problems since Week 6. The issue caused him to miss Week 7 and Week 8.
New York had a bye in Week 9, and Wilson returned in Week 10 against the Browns - only to reaggravate his right knee. The Jets placed Wilson on IR on Nov. 13, meaning he will not be eligible to return until Week 15 at Jacksonville.
Wilson’s injury is believed to be a mild knee sprain, which takes around 3-4 weeks to recover from. The Jets will surely take their time when it comes to Wilson, who is their top offensive player. The team could even opt to shut Wilson down for the remainder of the season, given that they are out of playoff contention.
If Wilson does return, however, we can expect him back around mid-to-late December, which coincides with the fantasy football playoffs.
Here is a look at the Jets’ schedule around the time Wilson is likely to be back.
- Sunday, Dec. 14 (Week 15): New York Jets at Jacksonville Jaguars
- Sunday, Dec. 21 (Week 16): New York Jets at New Orleans Saints
- Sunday, Dec. 28 (Week 17): New England Patriots at New York Jets
❓ Will Garrett Wilson be back for fantasy football playoffs?
The majority of fantasy football leagues have their playoffs start in Week 15 of the NFL season. That just so happens to be the week in which Wilson is eligible to make his return.
Fantasy owners should not be writing his name in pen when it comes to their starting lineup for that week, though. As mentioned above, the Jets could very well shut Wilson down for the remainder of the season given their current position in the standings.
Head coach Aaron Glenn did offer a glimmer of hope for Wilson’s return, as he recently said he believes Wilson will play again this season.
🏈 Garrett Wilson fantasy football stock
Wilson’s potential return will be one of the most closely examined storylines down the stretch of the fantasy football season. The fourth-year receiver has undeniable talent, but the Jets' quarterback play has been so bad this season that simply getting him the ball has been a very difficult task. In eight games this season, Wilson has 36 catches for 395 yards and four touchdowns.
Last season, Wilson played in 17 games and recorded 101 catches for 1,104 yards and seven TDs. He has not posted a 100+ yard receiving day yet this season, though he had a seven-catch, 95-yard day in the Jets’ season opener against the Steelers.
Wilson went in the fourth, fifth, or sixth round of most fantasy football drafts this past August.
✈️ Jets betting odds
Super Bowl odds show the Jets with a +100000 number, which is tied with several other basement dwellers for the largest price on the board.
The Jets’ current win total projection is 3.5 victories, with juice on the Over.
Many Jets fans are already focused on the 2026 NFL Draft, in which the best NFL betting sites have markets up for already. Ty Simpson (+130) and Fernando Mendoza (+300) are the favorites to go No. 1 overall.
