Falcons vs. Saints Player Props: Best Bets & TD Picks for NFL Week 12

Kirk Cousins getting the start for the Falcons has me reaching for a +1000 dart throw on an anytime touchdown scorer wager.

With Michael Penix Jr. out for the season, Kirk Cousins takes over as Atlanta’s starting quarterback as I make my Falcons vs. Saints player props.

New Orleans looks for a fourth straight home win against Atlanta as a 2-point betting favorite at the Caesars Superdome at 4:25 p.m. ET (FOX). My NFL Week 12 predictions feature two plus-money plays, while expecting an Atlanta pass catcher to benefit from the lack of competition for targets with Drake London out.

💵 Best Falcons vs. Saints player prop bets

  • Darnell Mooney player prop: Over 3.5 receptions (-157 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Tyler Shough player prop: Over 1.5 passing touchdowns (+182 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐
  • KhaDarel Hodge player prop: Anytime touchdown scorer (+1000 via bet365) ⭐

💰 Best Falcons vs. Saints player props

⬆️ Darnell Mooney player prop: Over 3.5 receptions (-157) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

In the two games that Mooney played with Cousins under center against the Saints last year, he finished with stat lines of 3/56/0 and 5/96/0, while seeing 15 combined targets.

Now, Mooney has less competition for targets with the team’s No. 1 receiver, London, set to miss this game.

Mooney has seen seven targets in back-to-back games. And I am not swayed by the fact that he has surpassed this projected total just once all season, as early-season injuries hampered him.

The implied odds for Mooney to cash this Over are as high as 63.24% through FanDuel’s -172 odds. That is why I am opting for the better return at DraftKings, whose -157 odds would pay out $6.37 in profits on a winning $10 wager.

⬆️ Tyler Shough player prop: Over 1.5 passing touchdowns (+182) ⭐⭐⭐

Tyler Shough is looking to become the first rookie quarterback in Saints history to win consecutive starts. From a statistical perspective, he gets a great matchup against a Falcons defense that has allowed 10 passing touchdowns over the last four weeks (tied for the most in the NFL).

Atlanta’s pass defense was just torched for a Panthers franchise record 448 passing yards by Bryce Young, which also included three touchdowns and 20 passing first downs. Now the Falcons could be exhausted after having played back-to-back overtime games, while allowing the third-most passing yards per game over the last three weeks.

Shough is coming off his first career game with multiple passing touchdowns, which makes it curious why his odds to do so for a second straight game are so high.

FanDuel’s +182 odds at the high end of the market imply a 35.46% probability and would net $18.20 in profits if he turns in a multi-touchdown performance.

6️⃣ Best Falcons vs. Saints touchdown scorer bet

🔥 KhaDarel Hodge TD pick: Anytime touchdown scorer (+1000) ⭐

As far as dart-throw anytime touchdown scorer wagers go, one can do much worse than Falcons wide receiver KhaDarel Hodge.

In the only other game Cousins started this season, Hodge saw eight targets, as opposed to the two he has seen for the rest of the season. With London out, Hodge should be involved in three-wide receiver sets throughout the game.

If Hodge scores his first touchdown of the season, a $10 wager would net a massive $100 in profits.
