Atlanta Falcons fans almost universally rejoiced at the dismissal of Raheem Morris earlier in the week, leaving a void on a team full of top-notch offensive talent and promising young players on the defensive side of the ball and that failed to live up to expectations.

Our NFL head coaches tracker shows two candidates neck-and-neck for the job: recently fired Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski and Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. While there may be questions under center, Atlanta will be an attractive landing spot in a division that's wide open for the taking next season.

🔴 What would Stefanki or Kubiak bring to Atlanta

Both Stefanski and Kubiak bring to the team an offensive mind, and one that's followed a similar path.

Stefanski was the assistant quarterbacks coach and tight ends coach for the Minnesota vikings back in 2013-14, a stretch that saw Kubiak employed as an offensive quality control coach with the Vikes. Stefanski served as Minnesota's quarterback coach from 2017-18, a role that Kubiak moved into in 2019. Stefanski served as the interim offensive coordinator in 2018, and ditched the interim tag in 2019. You'll never guess who served as the Vikings OC in 2021...

However, from 2020 onward their careers have taken different paths.

Stefanski has spent the last five seasons at the helm of the Cleveland Browns, picking up two NFL Coach of the Year awards (2020, 2023), leading the Browns to the postseason both years.

Kubiak has spent the last five years continuing to hone his offensive game, assuming roles with the Denver Broncos (passing game coordinator and QB coach), San Francisco 49ers (passing game coordinator), New Orleans Saints (offensive coordinator), and Seattle Seahawks (offensive coordinator).

🔮 Falcons next head coach prediction

Kevin Stefanski (26%)

Adam Schefter has reported that the team is expected to meet with Stefanski amongst its list of candidates.

The Falcons would be advised to go-in on Stefanski. He's achieved more with lesser rosters than the Dirty Birds offer, full of offensive stars (and potential stars) in Bijan Robinson, Kyle Pitts, Drake London, and maybe Michael Penix.

Stefanski would bring a solid resume: it's not often that two-time Coach of the Year winners become available.

❓ How do you trade on prediction markets?

Think of prediction markets like the stock market, but for real-world outcomes. You sign up, add some funds, pick an event (anything from politics to weather to sports to entertainment), and then decide whether you’re riding with “Yes” or fading it with “No.”

Prices bounce around $0.01 and $0.99 based on what everyone else believes, and once the event wraps up, contracts settle at either $1 or $0. You’re not betting against the house - you’re trading against other users and cashing in if your prediction hits.
