🆚 Expert NFL game picks
Dustin Saracini: Chiefs -11.5
Are the Chiefs back? I believe the Chiefs are all the way back - we're riding them for our NFL expert picks for Week 7. I wasn’t on board until last week, when they completely dismantled the Detroit Lions. The dangerous offense is now fully healthy and eligible to play with Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice back in the fold, and Kansas City owns the 11th-best scoring defense in football. This might be a blowout come Sunday.
Gary Pearson: Commanders -1.5
I backed the Cowboys last week in Carolina, and their defense let me down. As our LJ Blut’s pick suggests, this should be a shootout between excellent offenses in perfect conditions.
I have way more faith in the Commanders’ defense securing one more stop than Dallas, which is sporting the second-worst defensive DVOA and defensive EPA per play.
Sean Tomlinson: Cowboys +2.5
Taking the Over is mighty tempting here, too, given the shootout and defense-optional brand of football the Cowboys have been playing lately. But the sky-high number of 55.5 is a smidge uncomfortable from the best sports betting sites, so keep an eye out if that drops closer to kickoff.
Instead, let’s trust the Cowboys to keep it close or win outright, and they’re well-positioned for either of those outcomes. Dallas is averaging 29.7 points per game (third), and Washington’s ability to pull away during a shootout could be hindered if Terry McLaurin is either still out or not back to his full workload yet. Let's ride the Cowboys as part of our NFL expert picks for Week 7.
LJ Blut: Giants +7
The Broncos are coming in off a poor performance against the New York Jets. The Jets realistically should have won that game, and the Broncos have not been playing at a high level on the offensive side of the ball. The Giants most recently pulled an upset win against the Eagles, and look to carry that momentum into Sunday’s game on extended rest.
Not only did the Broncos play poorly, but they need to travel back to Denver from London, and that is no easy task to get geared up for an NFL game. The Giants have also been playing good football lately, especially with Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo leading the charge.
🏈 Best NFL player prop bets
Saracini: Dak Prescott Over 264.5 passing yards
Washington can be had through the air, as their pass defense ranks 23rd in football, allowing 235 yards per game. With the NFL prop betting sites projecting this one as a high-scoring game with a total in the 50s, rest assured, Mr. Prescott will be dropping back close to 40 times, giving us enough volume to soar over this number.
Pearson: Davante Adams Over 75.5 receiving yards
Davante Adams hit the Over on this total in three of six games, and he’ll be Matthew Stafford’s primary target in Puka Nacua’s absence. He’s also facing a Jaguars pass defense that has been roasted by Jaxon Smith-Njigba (162 yards), Tyquan Thornton (90 yards), and Ja’Marr Chase (165 yards) in three of the previous five weeks. We'll rock with Davante as part of our NFL expert picks for Week 7. Our Mike Spector makes his best Rams vs. Jaguars prediction for Sunday's opening game.
Tomlinson: Davante Adams to score a touchdown
Nacua (ankle) was officially ruled out this week due to an ankle injury, which will make Adams even more of a target hog in the red zone. Adams is tied for the league lead with 12 red-zone targets, and the jump-ball specialist has also been given an NFL-leading eight targets inside the 5-yard line.
Combine that with a leaky Jacksonville Jaguars pass defense that’s given up 256.3 yards per game (30th) and has allowed the third-most yards to wide receivers (995), and it’s easy to see an opening for Adams to score his fourth touchdown of the season.
Blut: Jaxson Dart to score a touchdown
My favorite prop on the slate is going to have to be Dart to find the end zone at +360 betting odds. The Broncos' defense does a great job of limiting passing opportunities, and the Giants' wide receiver room is decimated with injuries.
The Giants will need to be creative with their red-zone offense on Sunday afternoon, and the player to watch is Dart. In two of the three games he's started, he's found the end zone. Let's see him make that three out of four games with a rushing touchdown.
