I'm taking the Over in my Eagles vs. Chargers prediction for Monday Night Football.
Kickoff from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., is slated for 8:15 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN). The NFC East-leading Eagles are a 2.5-point betting favorite despite defensive tackle Jalen Carter not playing. I'm also locking in on a Kimani Vidal prop bet as part of our NFL predictions for Week 14.

After undergoing a procedure on both shoulders, Carter won't feature, significantly altering the complexion of Monday Night Football. Because of that recent development, I'm pivoting to the total, backing the Over.
All three of the Eagles' previous away games in indoor domes went Over this total, including their most recent 24-21 loss at AT&T Stadium to the Dallas Cowboys.
The Chargers, meanwhile, cleared the total in five of their six games at SoFi Stadium, with the 25-10 over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10 the only exception.
The Eagles will find getting pressure on the quarterback markedly more challenging without Carter, who has the second-most QB hits (11) behind Jalyx Hunt (15). Speaking of the Chargers QB, Herbert is listed as questionable after having surgery on his non-throwing hand. I expect him to play, and news of Carter's absence will make life easier for whoever lines up under center.
The Chargers have allowed only 12 points per game over the previous five. However, none of those five teams had a threatening offense, with Jacksonville's 21st-ranked offensive DVOA the most formidable.

Kimani Vidal vs. Eagles' defense
Omarion Hampton, whom I featured in my Eagles vs. Chargers player props, will return to the Chargers lineup for the first time since Week 5.
While the rookie was and will remain Jim Harbaugh's primary running back, I can't see Los Angeles forgetting about the influence Vidal has had on proceedings in Hampton's absence. Vidal accounted for at least 95 rushing yards in two of the previous three games while averaging 76.2 yards in that sample size.
He'll share the load with Hampton, both of whom will have their eyes on productive outings against an Eagles unit that allowed 281 yards to Chicago last week and concedes the ninth-most yards per carry (tied with three other teams).
