I keep thinking NFL MVP odds favorite Drake Maye will falter and, like most other second-year quarterbacks, endure at least one fallible moment, an instance of human inadequacy.

After seeing him storm ahead on the MVP odds leaderboard thanks to a dominant Monday Night Football performance, leapfrogging veteran Matthew Stafford, I'm not sure that moment is forthcoming. Maye has reeled off 10 consecutive victories, propelling the 11-2 New England Patriots to the top of the AFC. Let's take a look at how much he has distanced himself from the rest of the field. The analysis below complements our Week 14 NFL predictions

🪖 Drake Maye recaptures status as MVP odds favorite

The more I watch him play, the more I reckon the saying "May the Force be with you" was coined for the 23-year-old. Maye dominated the New York Giants throughout the 33-15 victory, putting the game to bed before halftime. In the first half, he was 16-for-20 for 208 yards and two TDs.

Maye has the best completion percentage (71%) in the league. With the second-best completion percentage on tosses of 20 yards or more (55.6%), he's the antithesis of a check-down QB. At 63.4%, only Sam Darnold completes long-range throws at a higher rate of efficiency.

The MVP odds favorite completed 77% of his throws against the Giants and has the highest completion percentage (69%) of anyone in the first 25 games in the NFL.

And have I mentioned it was his first time under the bright lights of MNF?

Predictably, Maye's MVP odds entering Monday Night Football have shortened considerably, moving to -125 at FanDuel. He is the only individual trading at minus-money odds, with Stafford - who lost to the Carolina Panthers in Week 13 - seeing his odds remain at +130.

Maye's -125 odds imply a 55.56% win probability, while Stafford's +130 odds sit at 43.48%.
