The Las Vegas Raiders are expected to select Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 pick, which we dive into in our 2026 NFL draft odds.

The New York Jets, meanwhile, have the No. 2 pick, and they're also expected to take a QB, with Oregon QB Dante Moore the most likely choice. Those two quarterbacks play each other in Friday's Peach Bowl when Indiana meets Oregon. Let's get into the NFL draft odds, where we provide the full draft order for the first round.

🏴‍☠️ Will Raiders take Mendoza 1st overall?

Just a few months ago, Mendoza was a little-known transfer from Cal with some quiet buzz among draftniks - including our own Rob Paul, who gave out Mendoza as a long shot to be the top pick last April before he even had odds - but a relatively small profile among most football fans.

That was before he led the Hoosiers to their best season in school history while becoming the team's first-ever Heisman Trophy winner with 3,172 passing yards and an FBS-leading 36 passing touchdowns, 9.6 yards per attempt, and 184.7 passer rating. Those stats don't tell the full story, as Mendoza was ice cold in the biggest moments of the season against the toughest competition en route to a perfect record.

The Raiders could sure use a player like that to build around after three years of quarterback purgatory following a split from Derek Carr. The team traded for Geno Smith before last season but seem likely to move on from both Smith and head coach Pete Carroll, who is among the NFL head coaches most likely to be fired.

✈️ Can Moore save Jets' offense?

While there's an outside chance the Jets (or another team) could take a star defender like Rueben Bain Jr. or Arvell Reese with the No. 2 pick, New York has long been desperate for a franchise quarterback and seems likely to move on from Justin Fields this offseason.

There are clearly two top-tier quarterbacks in this class in Mendoza and Moore, who has been floated as a potential top pick throughout the season and looked the part in his lone season starting for the Ducks. The former five-star recruit threw for 3,280 yards and 28 touchdowns this season, and he flashed elite arm talent and downfield accuracy at the helm of Oregon's star-studded offense.

The Jets could opt to take a star defender early and wait until 2027 to invest resources in a top QB, especially with this year's class viewed as a sub-standard year for quarterback prospects. But if they go in that direction early, expect Moore to be the guy.
