Best Cowboys vs. Jets Player Prop Picks for Week 5: Hall, Wilson Should Feast On Dallas Defense

The New York Jets are still seeking their first win under new coach Aaron Glenn, but that could change on Sunday when New York hosts the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium as 2.5-point underdogs (1 p.m. ET, FOX.)

Our best Cowboys vs. Jets player props favor a New York upset, targeting Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson to have big days against a woeful Dallas defense. However, our NFL picks for Sunday also include Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson continuing his strong start to the season.

⬆️ Breece Hall Over 23.5 receiving yards (-118) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

After splitting lead back duties with Braelon Allen in the first several games, Hall will return to bellcow status this week with Allen on injured reserve. Even in a snapshare situation, Hall has been productive in the passing game, topping the 30-yard receiving yard plateau in three of four games so far this year.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys’ woeful pass defense has included vulnerability to opposing running backs. Green Bay’s Josh Jacobs gained 71 yards on four receptions last week, and Dallas is allowing 57 yards per game to the running back position — the third-most in the NFL.

Several top NFL sportsbooks like FanDuel, Caesars and DraftKings set Hall’s receiving yards prop at 24.5 yards, but I was able to find 23.5 at BetMGM. Their -118 odds imply a 54.1% probability and the chance to profit $8.47 on a $10 bet.

⬆️ Jake Ferguson Over 5.5 receptions (+103) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

No tight end in the Super Bowl era has caught more passes through the first four games of a season than Ferguson, whose 34 receptions rank second overall in the entire NFL. He’s also been incredibly reliable, hauling in 21 of 22 targets over the past two weeks.

With Dallas dealing with numerous injuries on the offensive line, it makes sense that Dak Prescott will continue to get the ball out quickly to Ferguson in the middle of the field. It also makes sense to exploit a Jets defense that gave up a pair of touchdowns to Miami Dolphins tight end Darren Waller last week.

As of Friday morning, DraftKings was offering the best price on Ferguson Over 5.5 receptions at +103 odds, although you could also find even money at Caesars. A $10 bet at DraftKings pays $10.30 profit with an implied probability of 49.3%.

🔥 Garrett Wilson anytime TD scorer (+145) ⭐⭐⭐

Even in an offense with just five passing touchdowns through four games, Wilson has already reached the end zone three times. That number could have been four if it weren’t for a debatable offensive pass interference penalty Monday in Miami that took a Wilson TD off the board.

Wilson should feast against a Cowboys’ pass defense that has allowed the most fantasy points to receivers in the NFL this year, giving up an average of 14.8 yards per completion. Dallas has also allowed three touchdowns to wideouts in each of its last three games.

DraftKings and bet365 both pay +145 on Wilson anytime touchdown, suggesting just a 40.8% probability that he hits paydirt against the Cowboys. I’ll happily grab those odds and the chance to profit $14.50 on a $10 wager, but Wilson’s potential for a huge day makes it worth considering bet365’s +1100 odds on him to score two-plus touchdowns as well.
