Best ATS pick: Commanders +3.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Seemingly, everyone loves the Packers tonight (58% of the handle is on Green Bay), which makes me feel even more confident that the Commanders can cover.

Micah Parsons or not, this Commanders offense is rolling into Green Bay with the utmost confidence on the back of Jayden Daniels. While the Packers are a slightly different animal than the New York Giants, who squared off with Washington in Week 1, look for the sixth-ranked offense from a year ago to keep this one close. The backdoor cover is screaming my name in this one.

Most of our best sports betting apps are sitting with the Commanders at -120, which is an implied probability of 54.55% and would earn you $8.33 in profit on a $10 bet.

Gary Pearson dives more into why he's on the other side and backing the Packers, along with his favorite player prop, in his Commanders vs. Packers prediction.

Best player prop pick: Josh Jacobs Over 76.5 rushing yards ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This pick is all about workload as one of our top prime-time bets for Week 2.

Josh Jacobs handled 19 carries in the Week 1 opener, and he’s set up for even more work against a run defense that ranked second-worst in the league last year.

Washington gave up 143 rushing yards per game last year, and when you pair that with Jacobs’ heavy usage, this shapes up as my favorite play of the week - especially if Green Bay is protecting a lead late in the game.

Jacobs was also the second-best running back in yards after contact last year, and he'll be giving the Commanders all they can handle tonight.

All of our best sports betting sites are sitting on or close to the O/U of 77.5 yards, with the Under juiced to -115. The 53.49% implied probability on these -114 odds at FanDuel would result in $8.70 in profits on a winning $10 wager.

Best touchdown scorer prediction: James Cook to score anytime TD ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Here's why our NFL expert Matt Jacob is betting on Commanders wideout Terry McLaurin to score a touchdown against the Packers on Thursday Night Football.

"A lengthy and very public contract dispute led to a tumultuous offseason and training camp for Terry McLaurin and the Commanders. McLaurin ultimately got his money before coming out and putting up a Week 1 dud against the Giants (two receptions for 27 yards).

It was just the second time in 10 games (playoffs included) that McLaurin failed to score a touchdown. McLaurin hasn't failed to score in consecutive games since Weeks 10 and 11 last season. In fact, since Week 3 in 2024, McLaurin was held scoreless in back-to-back games just twice.

We’ll bet on him notching his first touchdown of 2025 tonight in Green Bay. We’ll do so at FanDuel, which offers this prop at +155 odds. A winning $10 bet would yield $15.50, with an implied win probability of 39.22%."

Jacob is also targeting Jordan Love and Jacory Croskey-Merritt props as part of his best Commanders vs. Packers player props.

Best first touchdown scorer prediction: Tucker Kraft to score first TD ⭐⭐⭐

Here's why our NFL expert Sean Tomlinson is betting on Packers tight end Tucker Kraft to score the first touchdown on Thursday Night Football.

"Kraft is getting the third-best odds at our best sports betting sites among Packers skill players to score first. Though as is the case for anyone not named Josh Jacobs (+380), his price is still alluring, especially when you consider the frequency of his red-zone looks.

The tight end, who's fresh off catching one of Jordan Love's two touchdown tosses in Week 1, finished tied for third at his position last year in red-zone targets (15). That translated to a whopping 90% of Green Bay's red-zone looks, and he turned those opportunities into six touchdowns (he scored seven overall last season).

If that heavy lean in the red zone continues and Kraft snags the first touchdown of the game, a $10 wager at these eye-catching +1200 betting odds from bet365 would result in a $120 profit, with an implied probability of 7.69% for one of our first touchdown scorer picks for Thursday Night Football."

Tomlinson also breaks down his favorite Commanders touchdown scorer bet in his first touchdown scorer predictions.
