Denver travels to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs, and I'm dropping my best Chris Oladokun player props to get you set for the Christmas Night matchup.

With Patrick Mahomes lost for the season, is Oladokun destined for a big game at home? Let's first find out who this backup QB is, and whether or not we should fade him before the 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff (Prime Video). Let's dive in as part of our NFL Christmas Day predictions.

๐Ÿค” Who is Chris Oladokun?

Check out all of our NFL analysis and expert analysis for every game this season.

So Oladokun is making his first start on Christmas Day, but who really is this guy?

The QB began his college career at South Florida before transferring to Samford, where he threw for 2058 yards and 18 touchdowns during his junior season in 2019. Oladokun finished his career at South Dakota State in 2021, posting 3,164 passing yards and 25 touchdowns for the Jackrabbits. Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 213 pounds, Oladokun had just one career NFL pass attempt prior to last Sunday - but now finds himself stepping in for Patrick Mahomes as the Chiefs face the AFC West-leading Denver Broncos.

Oladokun made his debut in Week 16 after Gardner Minshew went down with a knee injury early in the second quarter of Kansas Cityโ€™s 26-9 loss to Tennessee on Sunday. He completed 11 of his 16 pass attempts for 111 yards and had two rush attempts for seven yards. The 28-year-old quarterback was taken in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers, but was released shortly after and has since been on and off with the Chiefs' practice squad.

Market Betting line Over odds Under odds
Passing yards 149.5 -115 -115
Passing attempts 29.5 -115 -115
Rushing yards 17.5 -120 -110

The market is still playing it safe with Oladokun, who's only played three quarters of NFL football. With 111 yards on 16 pass attempts a week ago, do we feel safe betting the over against one of the best secondaries in the league? That's what I'm asking myself.

I'll be leaning toward his rushing yards instead, and I'll be throwing a half-unit lotto on his anytime touchdown props (+950) as well. The Broncos' front-seven will be moving the pocket all night long, forcing Oladokun to scramble - let's take advantage.

Chris Oladokun over 17.5 rushing yards (-120)

Oladokun rushed twice for seven yards against the Tennessee Titans a week ago, but we'll be seeing him scramble for his life likely all game long against the formidable Broncos defense.

In 2019 at Samford, Oladokun had his best rushing year of his career, running for 491 yards and eight touchdowns. So, yes, he does have it in his bag to run for 18+ yards for us tonight. And at the next level, he's going to need to process the offense that much faster. We'll see him get happy feet and tuck and run more than a handful of times tonight.
