The Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos square off in an AFC West divisional matchup at Empower Field at Mile High. Let's examine the matchup in our Chiefs-Broncos picks based on the latest odds.

The Kansas City Chiefs look to rebound from just their third loss of the season when they visit the AFC West division rival Denver Broncos. The Chiefs let a seven-point fourth-quarter lead slip away during a 27-24 Week 13 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals that snapped Kansas City's five-game winning streak.

Denver also squandered a late lead last week in Baltimore, allowing a touchdown in the dying seconds while losing 10-9 to the Ravens. It was the Broncos' fourth straight defeat, and their eighth in nine games. The team ranks last in the NFL while averaging 13.8 points per game.

Here is our best Chiefs-Broncos NFL pick for their Week 14 matchup (odds via PointsBet; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Chiefs vs. Broncos Odds

Chiefs vs. Broncos Odds Analysis

DraftKings made Kansas City a 6.5-point favorite on its lookahead lines in late November, but the line re-opened Sunday night with the Chiefs as 8-point road chalk. That line quickly moved to 9.5 at many sportsbooks, likely to protect the books from anyone wanting to tease the Chiefs down to under a field goal. Currently, no sportsbook has moved Kansas City to -10, but that shift before kickoff would hardly be surprising.

Oddsmakers were given the tricky assignment of setting the total for a game between the league’s best and worst offenses. The consensus opener was at 42.5, but early support for the Over moved it up a couple of points to 44.5 at most shops come Thursday afternoon.

Chiefs vs. Broncos Pick

Chiefs -9.5 (-107) ★★★★

Kansas City head coach Andy Reid is famous for his teams’ record following a bye week. But he also deserves a lot of credit for how his squads perform after a loss.

The Chiefs have rebounded from their previous two defeats in 2022 with dominant efforts against the Buccaneers and 49ers. They scored 40-plus points in each of those games while recording a combined winning margin of 31 points.

That high output might not happen against Denver’s second-ranked defense, but the Chiefs should still put up plenty of points. They’ve scored at least 20 in each of their last nine games, and the team hasn't been held below 24 in any of its last four. Patrick Mahomes has also led the Chiefs to high-scoring performances in Denver, where Kansas City has scored at least 27 points in all of his five career starts.

A similar performance should be more than enough to win comfortably over the Broncos, who have yet to score more than 16 points in any 2022 home game.

Head coach Nathaniel Hackett and quarterback Russell Wilson are both under fire from the Denver fan base. The Broncos’ locker room seems ready to implode at any minute, and top receiver Courtland Sutton is expected to miss the game with a hamstring injury.

The Chiefs should secure their 14th straight victory in this AFC West rivalry, and it shouldn’t be close. Expect Kansas City to record a double-digit win over Denver for the fifth time in the last seven meetings.

DraftKings was offering a lower point spread on Kansas City than any of our other top-rated sportsbooks, posting the Chiefs at -9 while the others were at 9.5. However, the -115 juice DraftKings was charging for that bet isn’t worth the difference from laying 9 or 9.5, neither of which are key NFL betting numbers. Bet this game at PointsBet due to its -107 reduced juice on both sides.

If you’re looking to throw the Chiefs into a parlay and not worry about them notching a multi-score win, PointsBet also offers the best Kansas City moneyline price at -400.
