💰 Bengals vs. Ravens betting impact

The scene at M&T Bank Stadium tonight will be bitter cold, but without precipitation expected, freezing rain or snow won't be an issue. Instead, it'll be those pesky westward winds that could depress scoring and frustrate kickers late into the evening.

With the latest forecast in Baltimore calling for 9-12 mph winds with gusts approaching 25 mph, we could see both passing offenses struggle to generate explosive plays or convert easy scoring chances. Here's how I'd consider the weather when betting on Bengals vs. Ravens:

  • Beware of special teams woes. As we've already seen in big spots this season, strong winds can turn a football into a frisbee, especially when flying through the air from distance. Both kickers tonight have struggled on longer field goals this season, so don't be surprised if we see otherwise makeable kicks turn into misadventures - or coaches forgoing a field-goal opportunity altogether.
  • Lean into the ground game. While the Bengals don't have a particularly reliable rushing attack, they'd be wise to test it tonight in Joe Burrow's return from injury - even more so if we see those 20-plus mph wind gusts. Burrow could struggle to drive the ball tonight as well as we'd expect when fully healthy, which is also the case for Lamar Jackson as he plays through injuries, and a fierce wind working against long passes won't help either quarterback.
  • Target short-yardage stars. If the wind impacts these teams' game plans, that could work in favor of their most reliable checkdown targets. For the Ravens, Zay Flowers profiles as the perfect safety valve for Baltimore if it opts against throwing deep downfield, while Chase Brown could see an elevated role as a pass-catching back for Cincinnati.
