The UConn Huskies (34-5) have won two of the last three national championship games, but the Michigan Wolverines (36-3) are favored to win by the latest UConn vs. Michigan win probability entering the NCAA Tournament final tonight at 8:50 p.m. ET (TNT, TBS, truTV).

Michigan features a 74% chance to beat UConn tonight in the national championship across the best prediction market apps - up from 73% when the matchup was set Saturday following the Final Four - on nearly $250 million in trading volume. Yet the Huskies are 6-0 all-time in title games, and Dan Hurley hasn't lost in the Sweet 16 or later in his career. Is the market underpricing the Huskies? We dive in below.

Michigan's 74% win probability translates to roughly -285 by traditional American odds, which is right in line with the latest UConn vs. Michigan odds heading into the title game.

The market opened at 73% after Michigan dismantled Arizona by 18 points in a Final Four matchup that wasn't even that close, and it's ticked up by a penny in price with trading volume at roughly $240 million within an hour of tipoff. It's already one of the most heavily traded college basketball events in Kalshi's history with more money to come.

It's easy to understand why Michigan is such a heavy favorite: the Wolverines looked like the best team in the regular season, surviving a loaded Big Ten to secure a No. 1 seed, then routed every opponent by double digits in the NCAA Tournament. Their net rating via KenPom (+39.72) is one of the best of all time, and they lead the country in defensive rating behind three potential first-round picks leading a jumbo-sized frontcourt. We broke down all of the trends and advanced stats ahead of this matchup tonight.

The case for UConn is a little tougher to make on paper, but Hurley has quite literally never lost a big game in the tournament, and the Huskies have never lost in the title game, either. I wouldn't put a ton of stock in that latter trend, but Hurley's success on this stage is hard to ignore, and Tarris Reed Jr. is playing like a man possessed. The market says UConn pulls off the upset one out of every four times, and that feels low to me.

My prediction: Michigan wins. The Wolverines' deep rotation and star power at all five positions feels like too much for UConn to overcome over 40 minutes, though Yaxel Lendeborg's injury makes it interesting if the Huskies can control the tempo and play bully-ball inside. Our expert Rob Paul agrees in his UConn vs. Michigan prediction, backing the Wolverines behind their overwhelming size and elite efficiency.
