The East Region's Elite Eight matchup is one of two that pits the top-2 seeds against one another, and there will be plenty of NBA talent on the court when No. 2 UConn faces No. 1 Duke for the right to go to the Final Four. Tipoff from Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., is set for 5:05 p.m. ET (CBS), and the Blue Devils are listed as 5.5-point betting favorites.

My UConn vs. Duke player props focus on ACC Player of the Year Cameron Boozer without touching his projected points total. I’m also backing one Over and one Under on two UConn seniors, Tarris Reed and Alex Karaban, as part of our March Madness predictions.

💰 Best UConn vs. Duke prop bet

See all of our March Madness prop bets for the 2026 NCAA Tournament.

Tarris Reed Under 9.5 rebounds (-105)

EvanMiya projects this game to have 64 possessions, limiting the ceiling for rebounds.

Tarris Reed should also draw the primary defensive assignment of Cameron Boozer, and Boozer has had a 30% or higher possession rate in five of the last six games. I’d like Reed to secure more boards if he wasn’t guarding the opposing player who is likely to have the most field-goal attempts.

There is also the issue of Reed potentially getting in foul trouble, as Duke’s 24 free throw attempts vs. St. John’s matched what the Blue Devils’ first three NCAA Tournament opponents took against them in total.

⬇️ Defensive battle in D.C.

Rebounds aren't the only thing I'm expecting to be hard to come by in this Elite Eight clash. I'm projecting a low-scoring battle in my UConn vs. Duke prediction.

🔥 More UConn vs. Duke prop picks

See the latest March Madness odds for every team in the 2026 NCAA Tournament.

Alex Karaban Over 2.5 made 3-pointers (+125)

In 148 career games, Alex Karaban is a 37.9% 3-point shooter, with this year’s 39.3% mark being his best since his freshman year. Those numbers don’t regress much when facing elite competition. Karaban has made 36.8% of his career 3-point attempts against Tier A opponents (top-50 KenPom teams), including a career-best 44% rate this season.

Karaban doesn’t lack for shot volume against Tier A teams, averaging five 3-point attempts in 15 such games this season. Duke’s defense will feed into that volume, as it ranks in the bottom-30 in 3-point rate allowed, and allowed the ninth-highest percentage of its opponents’ points coming from beyond the arc.

Karaban has attempted eight-plus 3-pointers in all three NCAA Tournament wins. If he gets up that many shots in this game, he just needs to be around his season-long percentage to cash this Over at generous plus-money odds.

Cameron Boozer Under 14.5 assists + rebounds (-120)

Cameron Boozer finished with 10 rebounds in the win over St. John’s. But while that resulted in his 22nd double-double of the season, it is somewhat misleading since he only had one rebound at halftime.

I'm targeting Boozer’s assist rate as part of this combination player prop wager, as the Blue Devils are coming off a game where they finished with just a 43.3% assist rate.

It is somewhat surprising that Duke wasn’t upset on Friday, as 19 of its 24 losses under Jon Scheyer have come when it has finished below a 58% assist rate barometer.

Boozer has gone Over this projected total in four of the last five games, but in just four of 10 games against KenPom top-20 teams.

🚀 UConn vs. Duke same-game parlay

Since I already have a Karaban prop as part of the same-game parlay from my UConn vs. Duke prediction, I don't want to risk sabotaging two parlays if that wager doesn't cash. Therefore, I'm swapping that leg of the parlay with a Duke moneyline wager, as the Blue Devils are 15-0 SU and 10-5 ATS when playing on just one day of rest over the last two seasons.

💡 How I'm betting UConn vs. Duke props: March Madness strategy

Follow all of our college basketball analysis and expert predictions for March Madness.

All three of my one-unit player prop wagers come with the caveat that I expect this to be a low-possession defensive struggle played out mostly in the half-court. Given how physical both teams play, it would be ideal if Reed and Boozer could somewhat neutralize each other by getting the other into foul trouble.

I'm also buying into Alex Karaban's experience factor, and that he has been one of the team's only consistent shooters over the last few weeks. Thus, I expect him to go out playing well if this is indeed his last ever collegiate game.
