We’ve identified our three best moneyline picks to combine for our March Madness parlay picks, with the NCAA Tournament bracket now in the second weekend.

Our March Madness predictions for the Sweet 16 include an underdog on the moneyline juiced up by a couple of high-seed favorites that we don’t see slipping up today or Friday during this next batch of games.

Here are my three best March Madness moneyline picks for the first round of the NCAA Tournament along with the best single-leg and parlay odds from our best sports betting sites.

🚀 Parlay pick #1: No. 6 BYU over No. 2 Alabama

We’re kicking off the parlay with an upset pick that would see BYU advance into the Elite Eight, as we see Alabama as a workable matchup for a Cougars team that has thrived in shootout environments this season.

BYU had been performing as one of the hottest teams in the country until it was systematically stymied by Houston in the Big 12 tournament semifinals. The Cougars couldn’t hit shots against Houston’s elite defense and the imposition of such a slow tempo cratered BYU in the contest.

I don’t believe the Cougars will fear the fastest adjusted tempo in the nation with which Alabama plays. As a team that has regularly thrived when scoring into the 90s, the Cougars might relish Alabama’s tempo. BYU has a top-10 adjusted offensive efficiency to level the playing surface against Bama’s elite offense.

Michigan State is one of the top teams in the country on the glass, ranking inside the top 20 in both offensive and defensive rebounding efficiency. That could be bad news for Ole Miss, which ranks outside the top 225 in both categories.

While the Rebels are an efficient offense (top 25 in AdjO) according to KenPom, that’s a difficult standard to uphold against the Spartans, who rank fifth in the nation in adjusted defensive efficiency and 10th in effective field goal percentage defensively.

It will take an outlier performance offensively for the Rebels to get past Michigan State and my belief is that Mississippi isn’t quite elite enough offensively to crack the Spartans’ strong defensive identity.

After trouncing a pair of mid-majors in the first two rounds of the tournament, Purdue is in for a rude awakening in its Sweet 16 matchup against Houston. Purdue is one of the worst teams in the nation in two-point defense, which could serve to negate one of the few weaknesses that Houston has as a team.

Purdue’s easy time on the boards in the tournament won’t be the case this time around as we expect the combination of Houston’s discipline and athleticism to give the Boilermakers fits.

The Cougars are one of my favorite ATS picks in this round, but considering the more risky nature of a parlay, we’ll simply use Houston here as a high-percentage way to boost the profit potential of our other two picks in the parlay.
