This could be the last ride for this Golden State core, and I like its chances to start strong by covering a small spread on the road.
The Lakers won three of four matchups last season, but L.A. opens the season without an injured LeBron James (sciatica).
I expect a veteran Warriors team to take advantage of that, and I love the 2.5-point spread here at reasonable -115 odds.

We were initially expecting an offensive showcase on opening night, but I'm now backing the Under with James missing this contest.
His absence will leave too much on Luka Doncic's plate, and I don't think the Lakers' supporting cast can consistently find their own shot without Doncic and James working in concert as ball-handlers.
These teams combined for an average of 227.2 points last season, but L.A. will have a hard time scoring without James against a Warriors team that ranked seventh in defensive rating a year ago.
🚀 Stephen Curry Over 32.5 points + assists (-117) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Curry soared past this total in three of the four games he played against Los Angeles last season, including scoring 37-plus points alone three separate times.
The best shooter the sport has ever seen always delivers against the Lakers. And while he may not be as motivated without James on the court against him, Curry knows how to find his spots against an L.A. defense that still can't contain him.
Some of the other best sports betting sites have this prop lined at 31.5 with DraftKings charging -121 odds on the Over. I like the 32.5 at -117 to add to our SGP.
