Bam Adebayo should be primed for another big season, but we’re banking on that not being fully evident as the season tips off, considering the challenge the Magic present defensively.
Orlando did an excellent job holding Adebayo below his usual averages last season, as Bam put up 15.8 points and 7.5 rebounds across 35.0 minutes per contest over four games versus Orlando. The Magic ranked No. 6 in rebounds and No. 1 in points allowed last season overall, and Orlando conceded just 19.2 points and 9.2 rebounds per game to power forwards specifically. Given Adebayo wasn’t very efficient on a per-minute basis in this matchup last season, I love the Under here.
At -110 odds at FanDuel, the bet has a 52.4% implied probability of hitting, with a $10 wager netting $9.09 in profit.
⬆️ Desmond Bane Over 17.5 points (-112) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
One of Desmond Bane’s trademarks throughout his career has been his efficient shooting, with field-goal percentages of 46.9% or better in three of his first five seasons and 3-point shooting percentages between 38.1% and 43.6% in each of his campaigns.
He’ll have fewer opportunities on the offensive end in his new Orlando digs due to the presence of Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero. However, the talented wing should still have a solid complementary scoring role. He recorded at least 18 points on 47 occasions last season, including the postseason. While Tyler Herro’s suspect defense won’t be available to pick on, Bane should still have a good chance of finding the net enough to vault Over this number.
FanDuel has -112 odds (52.8%) on the Over. A $10 bet would win $8.93.
⬆️ Paolo Banchero Over 32.5 points + rebounds (-106) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Paolo Banchero enjoyed a breakout 2024-25 campaign. The versatile forward’s shooting efficiency is still a work in progress, but his typically robust volume often helps offset some of the inaccuracy.
Miami allowed 52.0 rebounds per road game last season, as well as 47.6% shooting to the power forward position. Banchero averaged 26.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per home contest and boasted a 33.7% usage rate overall, so a big night offensively and on the boards is very much within the range of outcomes.
