Hawks vs. Lakers NBA Player Prop Picks & Odds Tonight

The Los Angeles Lakers (19-13) will host the Atlanta Hawks (18-16) at 10:30 p.m. ET on Friday from Crypto.com Arena for the second night of a back-to-back set. Both teams are long shots in the NBA championship odds.
Los Angeles just won 114-106 against the Portland Trail Blazers, but it did so without Anthony Davis. Meanwhile, the Hawks lost 139-120 to the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.
Atlanta won in overtime during last month's matchup against Los Angeles, but the Lakers are 3.5-point favorites for the rematch on NBA TV.
Our Hawks vs. Lakers NBA player props target an emerging Los Angeles player, and we're fading the oldest man in the league.

The Lakers felt comfortable trading D’Angelo Russell because Austin Reaves is now their primary point guard. He’s posted double-digit assists in four consecutive games since Christmas, including nine first-half dimes against the Trail Blazers on Thursday.
Reaves ranks second in the league while averaging 3.8 first-quarter assists over the past four games, trailing only Atlanta’s Trae Young (4.5). Caesars and bet365 are alone among our best sportsbooks while offering first-quarter prop markets, with the former featuring a one-cent edge on Reaves’ assist prop.
It’s worth checking the alternate market on these first-quarter props. Reaves is averaging 9.6 minutes in the opening period since Christmas. I expect the starting point guard to set the tone for the Lakers.
Austin Reaves prop pick: 10-plus assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Best odds: +320 via DraftKings | Implied probability: 23.81%

Reaves’ standard assist prop has climbed to 7.5, so our best sports betting apps are catching on to his passing prowess. That’s why I prefer to seek a larger payout while attacking the alternate market after Reaves has averaged 11.8 assists over his last four outings.
My first thought was to check the double-double odds, but FanDuel’s best price on that prop is +260. A flier on his triple-double odds (+2700) is tempting because Reaves has averaged 8.25 rebounds since notching a triple-double on Dec. 25.
But his odds to record 10-plus assists at DraftKings offer the most significant edge.
Atlanta ranks 27th in assists allowed (28.6), suggesting its defense can be picked apart. I believe in Reaves, especially while he’s the team’s only ball-handler with Gabe Vincent sidelined.
LeBron James prop pick: Under 32.5 points + rebounds ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Best odds: -115 via DraftKings | Implied probability: 53.49%
LeBron James finished with 38 points and three rebounds against Portland, joining Michael Jordan as the only other player to score 30-plus points at 40 years old. Still, fading James on the second night of a back-to-back at his age has become one of my favorite angles.
James has played four back-to-backs this season, finishing with more than 32.5 points and rebounds just once, and that was the first weekend of the season. He’s ended up below 29 points and rebounds in his past three back-to-backs.
Additionally, James hasn’t collected more than four rebounds since Christmas. I don’t expect that to change, as Davis will likely return to the lineup. Fade the old man on Friday.
